please dont spread rumors that are not true. the xbox 360 does not have a "terrible hardware failure problem".

yes, its true that some of the LYNers' 360 have failed but if you looked at the numbers, its just a small percentage. it's not as widespread as everyone thinks.

and if u ask me look at the numbers ?..wat numbers , how u get the numbers..how u calculate the percentage?

well, its all a matter of perspective, isn't it?

if we believe MS numbers of 3~5% defect rate of an installed base of ~10 million worldwide, that leaves us with >300,000 cases

hard to get solid real-life numbers. i only read english, so i only read the forums here, and at bob.sg and the xbox sg forums to get a sense of the problem. LYN cases ~40 lor, estimated LYN forumers with 360s ~250.

its really the luck of the draw. i think the chances of scoring 3RoD is still higher than winning tomorrow's magnum consolation prize

3ROD only occurs on random, and like any other electronic equipments it just the matter of luck..but it also can occur if:

1. the owner is lacking the habit to clean his/her room, thus transforming the console into an expensive dust collector thingy..
2. ventilation..cramp ur console in a tight corner, play it over night, and tomorrow morning u'll have a brand new paperweight..

juz becoz we have a dedicated thread to discuss this kind of thing in the Xbox forum it doesn't mean that 3ROD occurs too frequently, and also if by any chance 3ROD happens to ur console u can always send it back where it came from(or to experts) for repairs..

hehe..how do i know? b'cos i seen it myself. and a lot of my frien got it, some even got it multiple. no point to name it 1 by 1. and if u wanna see other cases... just go google.com, keyin "3 red lights of death".

and Yah, I got my console replaced via microsoft's support line. lucky still got warranty and no problem for me cos i stay JB.

i still love xbox 360.

If the graphic is not important to u and u like to play a game mostly with your family then go for wii but if you like to play more action game,FPS and with good graphic just go for 360.But there also a good action game in Wii like red steel.But if u like football game,360 is the best choice for u

if you've had enough of just sitting down and playing playstation's / xbox's then go for the wii. not saying that the wii's better, just a whole different gaming experience.

The whole thing about a different gaming experience is true, but the Wii lacks in-depth games. FPS games, RTS especially should have made it out and shined the Wii, unfortunately, we are blessed with mini-game crap.

*I* yearn to see/play a game, completely different, and full of depth. Final Fantasy might make that come true. Maybe SEGA's Alien Syndrome will give me bang for my bucks with friends. (unnlike Gimmicky ported Marvel Alliances with very few and sucky gesture moves)

payment for on9 gold is 50 usd i think n i think better go for wii if u like playing wif frens

IINM, the gold membership only available in the US but other than that u can buy 1/3 months membership here.

If you're a serious gamer go for the Xbox360.. but if u like family games go for Wii~

personally for me it was a no brainer. The 360 is what i wanted. Motion sensor is cool and all that but i just do not see myself wanting tendinitis playing a game system. Plus most of the Wii games are for kids and they really lack the edgy type of games that i play.

It is really like anything else, it is a matter of personal preference. People who owned prior Nintendo systems will most likely lean toward getting a Wii, where prior Xbox owners will want a 360.
Or if you are a real gamehead you will just own them all.

all i can say is that the 360 games rival that of a good PC game. Great graphics and gameplay (with the VGA cable upgrade).
