In a few months time, most of the bike will be returned with missing parts. Mainly sold for parts, and some kena curik for their own use. Anything from the seats to the backwheel, will be curiked.

Are there locals who use these things? Motorcycles are affordable and much more convenient than bicycles.
Are there tourists who use these? Put a QR code for scanning and a mobile app for download, then the number of users is probably close to zero. A better way is to tap an NFC card, whether credit or debit, then take the bicycle. Or there will be a need to put staff at every station, escalating the cost to a level that makes the system infeasible.
These are observations made in Chiang Mai.

Just Malaysian tourist flocking to Penang also more than Penang to handle ! FYI... Penang does have bike lanes... it's the blue marker bicycle logo that they paint on the left lane of the road.... which are shared by motorbikes, cars & lorries....

I think LinkBike has less exposed to vandalism since it is a docked bike, no parking wherever the user like. User have to find the LinkBike station to lock back.
Unlike OBike, easily found everywhere and if it is parked in a secluded area confirm get vandalized.
