HijackThis is a very useful tool we can help you is look for log from registry and start programs.

In the website of the creator can found an explanation about "why HijackThis can be download from other site?".

The program was sold to Trend Micro and is published as "Trend Micro HijackThis 2.00".

The company buy the software with the latest updates, but no official statement was published and not exist official support either.

In words from the creator:

"I sold HijackThis because I had been sitting on an unfinished update for over a year and I still could not make enough time to finish it. My uni classes are taking up a lot of time and I want to set my goals a bit wider than just the antispyware business (though I still love it). If I am not dearly mistaken, it is still in BETA version, thus, use at your own risk. If you have a choice, goto File Hippo and get the slightly older version (1.99.1 if I am not mistaken).
