It's interesting dat PC hardwares nowardays consume more power than earlier
Even mid-range card nowardays like 8600GTS also required external PCI-E power supply New hardware not power efficient as their ancestors? |

QUOTE(LExus65 @ Mar 19 2007, 08:31 AM) hrm...........if so then we would expect heavy power consumption from 8600 Series cards............ 65nm process still not using in fabricating graphic chips yet. D latest process is 80nm for graphic chips fabrication if i not mistaken i tot they goin to use 65nm process on the new GPU chips already.............. to cut down on power consumption and heat ......... another dissapointment............ Even AMD they also haven't start production on proc chips using 65nm process. |

QUOTE(ghost321 @ Mar 19 2007, 11:16 PM) BFG Tech 8600GT This one should be 8600GTS dude! Take a closer look, there is an external PCI-E power connector and this feature only available on 8600GTS model Source: news.mydrivers.com ![]() "News sources says that there is a BIOS problem in the 8600GT but it will be resolved before it goes to retail. A lot of partners have already got hold of the products. They will hold on to it and go on sale on the 17 April." http://forums.ocworkbench.com/bbs/showthre...0threadid=60927 Furthermore the label on d fan sink also labeled 8600GTS Added on March 19, 2007, 11:39 pm QUOTE(ikanayam @ Mar 19 2007, 12:26 PM) We'll be seeing a couple of 65nm GPUs quite soon from AMD. Nvidia's 65nm will be around september or later. G84 and G86 are 80nm. Sorry dude, forgot 2 mention that it's AMD 65nm chips. I do know there already plenty of 65nm chips available on market by Intel Yes, they already have 65nm CPUs. This post has been edited by jcliew: Mar 19 2007, 11:39 PM |
