Is it true that there is such restriction? It sounds advantageous to the employer.

Last job offer I had, I insisted that I will not put in my salary. Went for 2 interviews, got the job, 50% increment.
This next job offer is a bit different. I didn't provide my payslip but I gave a ballpark annual figure and still asked for 50%. Let's see what happens |

QUOTE(gugukrez @ Apr 27 2017, 07:27 PM) I believe it under small company.. if MNC then no way.. as HR require to submit report every month on the hiring things. Last 2 companies I worked for were Fortune 500 companies. I did not submit my payslip, only put in what I wanted and got my 50% after some negotiations. I guess what I wanted to illustrate was that it's possible to do so in Malaysia, don't be sucked into a bad culture if you have a choice. This post has been edited by tishaban: Apr 27 2017, 08:37 PM |

QUOTE(win7 @ Apr 27 2017, 08:21 PM) I would want to see the law on that. I have never ever have to do it even with MNC or Chinamen company. I always state what I want and if its within their budget they will give it to me else they will just tell me their max budget for the position. If I'm not ok with it then I will just say sorry I don't think we could proceed this time. |

QUOTE(Win Win Inspiration @ Apr 28 2017, 08:42 AM) The first company I did this with was Shell more than 10 years ago. The HR were very professional about it throughout.Second company I did this with was a much smaller company (but still Fortune 500) in KL. Third company I am trying to do this with is a local company. They've not responded to me yet although the HR was very professional as well. |

QUOTE(lawrencesha @ Apr 25 2017, 05:16 PM) I'm assuming that you've never worked for an MNC company. Each job has a job grade (JG) tied to it. Each JD has a salary range as well. They cannot say coz your last job is X, so they will only give you X+20%. They must pay within that JG pay range else it is going to be a compliance issue. +1 |

Normally I will seal the salary figures first and if HR want my payslip after that, they can have it.
Honestly speak, HR nowadays is such pain to deal since they want to reduce salary as much as their can for their KPI's. |

QUOTE(win7 @ May 4 2017, 09:12 PM) Salary is P&C.Normally I will leave "current drawn salary" empty. If the HR ask, Just tell them "May I know what is the purpose of knowing my current drawn salary? I'm not comfortable to disclose it as it is P&C." Ask what is their budget or market rate for the applied position instead. |
