i did not go for the free Win 7 to Win 10 upgrade last year as I was afraid of Win 8 features in Win 10.

But after getting a new Dell with Win 10, I like the new Win 10!

Found out that MS allows another round of free upgrade to Win 10 (for lower end version, home etc).

Upgraded last night on my laptop,

730 pm downloaded Win 10 3GB+
800 pm started installing
numerous auto shutdown and restart
1100 pm blank screen, belum habis, went to bed

next morning
800 am blank screen
decided to press the power button, restarted in Win 10! Luckily!

The second half of the upgrade is not that good with blank screen. It should be more user friendly with messages on the screen, especially the last step to manually restart the computer.

Other than the above issues, the upgrade went well, all other programs are intact. rclxm9.gif

Thanks MicroSoft! rclxms.gif

Fresh means you formatted/uninstalled the previous OS and then installed Win 10?

Having some startup blank screen for hours with my laptop. Think it is updating Win 10.

I used to have the Win 10 auto update which created the blue screen of death on my PC (see my thread on this) due to one driver issue. Win 10 updates are not 100% bug free. Later I realised that I could select the option of delayed update, ie, it will only update mine months later, not when the fresh update is available. Beauty of delayed update is, other Win 10 users will be having some issues, MS will sort that out, fix that bugs in the update and I get the bug free update.

I tried to select the delayed update in my laptop Win 10, that option is not there anymore. Learnt later that now the delayed option is only for the higher end Win 10, not for home etc. Mine is Win 10 home for my PC and I think luckily I got that early when they just came out with that option.

Check yours to see if the delayed option is there.
