Does anyone here ever get their IP banned by Sony/Akamai? If yes, how long will it take before the ban is lifted? I've tried everything suggested on google, but nothing works. This is really frustrating. The more I search about it, the more frustrated I become.

how do you got banned in the first place?
*
That's the thing. I did nothing. The only thing I did before getting banned was playing FFXV DLC.

did you bought & played those shared Tier1/Tier2 digital games?

anyway, easiest & fastest way to find out and resolve it is to contact Sony CS directly
https://asia.playstation.com/en-my/support/contact-us/
*
Nope, I bought the digital premium edition (which includes the season pass) on my account way back then. My account isn't banned, just my IP. I still can login to my account on my mobile data with no problem.

Yeah, I've tried contacting them. I hope they don't suggest things that I've already known and done mad.gif

So when you say ban.
Do you mean you can't even connect to PSN ? (no online multiplayer games)
Or is a ban from purchasing new games ?
*
I can't connect to PSN. I'll get error WS-37397-9 on my PS4 and error C-82E10193 on my Xperia. My PC is also connected to the same wifi, so I'm basically banned from accessing the store.playstation.com and account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com websites. The store site will say "Site Not Available" and the account site will say "Access Denied. You don't have permission to access "http://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/" on this server".

I still can access them and purchase stuff if I'm on a different internet connection.

Coincidentally today I read that there was a mass Paypal chargebacks that are causing a lot of bans on UK PSN. Is that the case?
*
I don't know.. I've always been on my R3 account and don't have a UK PSN id.

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Jun 30 2017, 12:40 PM)
have you tried reset your modem to get diff public IP? hmm.gif
*
Yeah, tried that. It didn't work. I read that the public IP is provided by the ISP. Tried contacting my ISP, they said that the IP is dynamic and shared, so they can't change it...

home broadband you're using which ISP? TM? maxis? time?

reset the modem should give you a new public IP address, unless your ISP is giving you private IP (maxis) which could caused these issue if one of the other users is banned as well, since you're sharing the shared IP with them.

If it's Maxis giving you the private IP, call them & request for a public IP
Streamyx also giving out private IP nowadays

if your public IP starts with 10.x.x.x, then confirmed it's private
fastest way to check without going into your modem is to google "what's my IP"
*
Mine is Digi. It starts with 115.x.x.x. Playstation Asia replied to my Facebook message asking for my details. *fingers crossed*

If you are not on fixed IP then reset modem few times or off the modem for a while should get you new IP.
*
Okay, I tried again few times, and yup, I did get a new IP. And guess what? The new IP is blocked as well. It seems like anything starts with 115.x.x.x will be blocked shakehead.gif

Just to be sure maybe you tether from your mobile hotspot and see if still banned?
*
So I tried putting my laptop into airplane mode, restarted my modem and router to get a new IP again. I turned on my PS4, and voila! I can finally sign in cry.gif I suspect a programming app that I installed recently has to do something with this whole internet-IP fiasco triggering them to block my IP. I've uninstalled that and haven't had any problem yet.

Thank you so much everyone for being really helpful!! notworthy.gif I was so distraught for the past few day sweat.gif

i think this blanket IP address block move by Sony is stupid.
it's because other people did some bad thing on the network but you didn't, yet you still kena ban as well.

is there any workaround on this stupid problem rather than resetting my router? I'm on Digi as well and this is my 2nd time got ban.

if Sony don't imply ban cannot aa?
*
Didn't realize your post earlier. Nope, that's the only way... Worse, those who can't reset their router and unable to get a new IP from their ISP have to change their router. I read people from NA/EU saying that the CS deadly refuses to do anything. At least the one I encountered from Asia has a better CS.

It seems like this ban is kinda huge this time. I saw a number of comments in their FB page about it. Maybe it's not because of my PC after all...

I couldn't access the playstation store Malaysia website, anyone facing same problem. I click the link from the email and got error "saying site not available"
*
Sounds like you're facing the same issue as I did before. Basically our IPs are blocked. I got it fixed last Friday by obtaining a new IP multiple times, and guess what? I got blocked again today. Perhaps you can try what I did, restart your router and modem to obtain new IP. Check that you've obtained a new one by searching "what's my IP" on Google.

That's a little hard, Im using mobile data & tethering. Most of the time I got the same IP.

I am using Umobile & maxis, both IP also got block?

Why do they block the IP? he only thing I did before was trying to login into my account with multiple tries as I had forgotten my password
*
Try this?

QUOTE(jerryhean @ Jun 30 2017, 07:46 PM)
Flight mode few times should give you new IP.
*
They block IP because of suspicious activities, and I think in your case, the system thought someone was trying to hack into your account. But sometimes, we don't even know why, like my case.

If you still can't login, try contacting their customer service through email or facebook. I messaged them on facebook the other day and they asked me to provide them with my details. I didn't follow up after that because I thought my problem was fixed... Oh well, I guess I'll just restart my modem again...
