I don’t think it’s supported out of the box.
Even the Gold and the platinum headsets uses usb dongles.

Using a Bluetooth transmitter on your controller might work.
But the lag and potential soundcutoff will be troublesome. Just plug it into your controller.

Cheap Bluetooth transmitter might have a delay of about 0.1-0.5s? Ok for RPG. Kinda bad for action/FPS.

- you cannot change your country
- you might still able to use your credit card since it's the same region
- prices and games between sg and Malaysia is the same.

I’m having some input lag/dropped inputs from my controllers.

- this is apparent on all my controllers
- works well when there is a line of sight.
- blocking it a little will make it go bad. Even crossing my legs will cause input drops.
- I’m sitting about 2 meters away from then PS4 pro.
- router is also about 2 meters away from the PS4. Tried switching it off. It helps a little, but the issue still persist.
- PS4 has not been moved/dropped.
- when I connect the dualshock via usb, the issue did not occur.
- recently added an external and the platinum headphones wireless dongle (via a usb extension). Could that be an issue ?

Any encountered the same problem ?
Any possible solution to this ?

Will unplug the dongle and test it again.
I’ve added that recently so that might be a factor.
I’ve also upgraded my router to asus 86u that further saturate the 2.4GHz band.

It was the dongle. Unplugged it and no more issues.

Yeah, can’t believe a Sony made item is not compatible.
Fully discourage anyone from getting the PS headset.
One of my worst purchases of all time.

Tried returning, but it's a bit too late.
Can try to sell it off as second hand... maybe at a later date.

Regardless, I will hold the purchase for another headset.
Those optical to wireless headset still emits 2.4GHZ, might still interrupt my controller inputs.
Better wait for the next gen for them to fix it.

I’ve reorientate my PS4 Pro (near launch model) into a vertical position. It’s on top of the tv console table, not in any cabinet/closed space.
I notice the fan is a little bit loud during gameplay (regular games like unchartered, not GOW). My stand is coming next week, but is this Normal?

Seems like placing it vertical will block some air intake. So I am a little bit worried.
The sound is
- louder than placing in the horizontal position
- almost as loud as an original PS4
- no weird whirling noises
- no glitch/sudden hardware failure
- no disc inside the PS4
- but the sound is pretty frustrating unless I use headphones or turn up the volume.
- worried this could be due to dust, I have opened up the top cover to clean the fan but I find the fan to be extremely clean (despite using it for a year plus)

Is this something to be worried about ?

It’s not the pitch. It’s the amplitude. It’s just louder.

There are a few versions of the Pro.
Seems like earlier versions have a significantly louder fan.
I also suspect it’s the airflow from the sides, but if no one experience glitches or hardware failure, it should be alright.
Hopefully the stand will alleviate some of the problems.

As for fan positioning. I don’t think it’s as critical as airflow. When playing very demanding games, horizontal positioning just as loud. Only in the vertical position, the fan speeds up even in not as intense games.

The sound of the fan is a lot more noticeable because it engages a higher speed a lot more frequently. While changing from horizontal to vertical position might change the pitch/frequency, it is not noticeable to me.

Same thing with the optimal positioning of the fan. I’m not disputing horizontal is better. I’m saying the difference is negligible in this case.

Point is. I’m checking if anyone else experienced the same issue and if there are any negative effects to the console

If it’s fine, I don’t think the effort to replace the fan is worth it. Especially if the stand can help negate it.
Thermal cameras have shown the temperature difference between horizontal and vertical(no stand) is only 1-2C on the casing.

Edit : lifted the PS4 a little to give it some airflow. The fan spin a lil slower then.

There should be a drop or at least they won’t charge GST on top of the recommended retail pricing.

- digital games, no.
I don’t think price of games downloaded from PSN will be reduced as well. Since the price is pretty much standardized throughout SEA.

I’m estimating PS5 during holidays of 2019 earliest. Most likely it’ll be 2020.

This E3 they’re not going to announce any ps5.

They say they’re going to concentrate on the PS4 till 2021.
So guess holiday 2020, or early 2021 for PS5.

I think they’re gonna slowly kill PSVR off.
In The same meeting, they mention the slower than expected PSVR sales.

Sony has demonstrate that if something is not doing as well as expected, they will ditch it. Like the PS VITA.

Even PSP and PS3 is still supported so no worries.
They’re still giving out PS3 games at the moment on PS+ as well.
I expect them to support even the PS3 digital downloads as long as PSN is up and running.

Hopefully there are more AAA VR Games like RE7.
The only PSVR game I’m looking forward to now is Ace Combat and ZOE.

You’ll need the disc.
Without that you can’t even launch the game.

90% of my games are online.
Main Addvantange are
- don’t need to head to a shop to purchase it. You get it immediately
- don’t need to change disc when you’re changing games. - PS4 runs a lil bit quieter since there are no disc to spin
- you can technically share your games on another PS4, and you can bring your games anywhere.
- can be pretty cheap during sales
- save on physical space. Over the course of a PS4 lifespan. You may own 20-100+ games. Those will take up space.

Disadvantage
- can’t sell it off
- it’s not a physical media. So there are no memorabilia’s.
- you will need to download it. If you’ve a bad internet speed, this will be a significant issue.
- in the distant future where PSN stops supporting PS4 games, all these games will be gone and you’re unable to download any from the network. Also applies if you decide to try piracy/jailbreaking and your account is banned.

Unchartered ... Rm60
GOW3 ... Rm20-40

Why so cheap ?
They’re digital codes and not physical copies.
Plus sales for those on PS+ is very frequent.
GOW3 was free for PS+ as well. So most subscribers will already own them.


Digital most of the time.
Or second hand via carousell.
The physical shop I most frequent is actually Gamers hideout despite their bad rap lol.
