Some I was looking around online for second hand graphic card, I came across this SAPPHIRE R9 270X 2G DDR5 for RM 300, Check the performance benchmark online, it is slightly worse than GTX 1050ti.

Only downside of this card is it have some driver issue which will cause it to crash out of DOTA 2 most of the time, and I don't actually know the voltage consumption.

It still have 8 months warranty.

So to all PC sifu out there, please advice, is this worth taking?

Unless your a average player of Dota2 then no because you will get mad at the graphic card and eventually sell it again at the same price rclxms.gif
for the power consumption checkout sapphire website.

Undeniably I do play Dota 2, But won't they release some kind of a driver update that will fix this? At least I know Green team have regular update, dunno about red team.

Seems more like driver issue with windows 10 in google. check the amd website for the issue if it has been resolved if you got time.

Alright, noted with thanks, performance wise is it worth it? Was saving for a GTX 1050ti before encountering this.

RM300 is cheap for R9 270X. But if you can save up to RM700, go for GTX 1050 Ti instead.

For RM300 , you shouldn't be complaining so much. I don't think any GPU out there worth RM300 is better than the 270X . Power consumption is of course higher than GTX1050Ti. Definitely more than double.

R9 270X is actually a rebadged AMD 7870 which is a mid range card from year 2012. Minor improvements make the card a little faster. That's all , but still based on the same GPU die.

If you ask me worth taking or not, if u really no money to spend, then I say very worth. After all, you spend only RM300 on the GPU, how much money are you gonna lose even if you re sell it ? Even if you sell RM200 also you lose RM100 only . Where can you find such good depreciation rate for GPU. You look at people who bought GTX970 last time , buy for about RM1.3k , now sell about RM700+ only.

GTX1050Ti is a brand new Nvidia Pascal based GPU. Most of them don't need a PCI-E power connector to work. And 2X the VRAM too at 4GB .

R9 270X=HD7870

Its a solid card imo. Should be more than enough for Dota.

Try to find 4GB vram minimum for games nowadays. It allows you to use higher texture. 2GB is usually enough but can't go to Ultra/Extreme textures. Not sure what DOTA2 highest texture settings though.

Such a weird issue, is it a well known issue or only happen to this particular card? Maybe it's defective?

If you have good enough PSU to accompany the card then it's worth it imo, but depend on what game you're going to play.

270x for rm300 just about right there.

i don't think there's any similiar card from Nvidia which offers price:performance for about that money

i've used 260x, 7850 and now 7950, no issues with drivers. i don't play dota though

To me, the new ReLive ( version 17.xx) drivers are not stable for my R9 290. It only works best for newer rx series gpu only.

What I've check online, many people have similar issues, but since it's only one game to sacrifice(Maybe fixable) , I confirmed the deal with the guy already though.
