Max speed 5Mbps.

8 bits is 1 byte.

So 5 Megabits per second = 0.625 Megabyte.

So your download speed is effectively capped at 625 kb/s.
If you download a 1GB movie, and your coverage is good while there is no congestion,
and download speed can continuously cap at 625 kb/s, theoretically, it will take you 26mins max to download.

However, in the real world + umobile poor coverage issue, it is impossible to maintain max 625 kb/s, so give and take 30 mins to 1 hour.

I'm currently using p78. The speed in the early morning is so good at my house. Here is the speed test result,

I know this is random question but do you use your phone solely for internet? Or do you subscribe for Streamyx/Unifi too?
*
I'm using phone (main) and tablet (backup) for my internet usage. I'm not using streamyx/unifi.

Currently using umobile (main) + digi (broadband).

Just tested again this morning. Look inside yellow line. I'm in kelantan, don't have 4G LTE network.

No more bill shock with the new plan above p38. Unless you send 1000 sms per day (not shock since you know and use that sms)

may i know currently hotlink east malaysia how much is the quota?
*
Assuming not buying their data plan, topup RM30 you get

Old hotlink em/ec
- 10gb late night data and 10gb fb data each day for 15 days aka 150gb/15 days. The data is not reset each day.

New hotlink fast em/ec
- 1gb late night data reset each day for 30 days aka 30gb/mth.
- 1gb each for sat and sun reset each day weekend data 8gb/month.

I dont know till when the promo will last but i still can use those old hotlink em/ec 300gb/15 days promo.

Edit: it's 15 days for old plan.

Their 4g coverage out of town really sux. I have a prepaid hotlink most places got coverage and 4g while umobile do not have.
*
Yup, when using umobile u need a backup plan.

I'm using Hotlink em/ec (call & fast 4g speed late nite data) and digi bb (data).

My current bil:

Umobile p48 (rm48) + digi bb (rm45) = RM93/mth + Sometimes hotlink (RM10)

is p78 worth it?
*
What's your current data usage? If you're a downloader type then yes.

If your current usage only for streaming video, playing with facebook and instagram, just get p48. Unlimited Apps Onz and 5gb video onz already enough for you.

Pst: i use p78 for 5 days, downgraded to p48 after that laugh.gif

U watch drama everyday also cant utilize 100GB.

I tried on my WEBE. Watch tons of drama and stream movies and all, cant even hit 50GB usage.
*
Try downloading and updating Steam PC games (Dota 2 use the most data for their update). You will achieved that easily. I also used to torrent HD size movies (around 5-10GB Each) for my collection when no streaming provider exist before.

I am talking aboutpure mobile usage. Not tethering for PC usage.

Besides torrent on mobile on Webe is freaking slow. They cap the speed. Not sure on Umobile they cap or not.

Anyway recently used my RoamOnz 8GB quota for roaming in Australia.

Pretty good
*
Well people get those higher data plan because they want to use it for tethering purpose. Surely their usage is above 50gb per month.

I'm now happy with umobile p48, just for their app onz and unlimited call. For streaming iflix/kodi/aotg i use video onz 5gb + digi bb (25gb + rm1 or rm5 video freedom add on).

That's why always needed to have back up line..
U really cannot dependent on U mobile.. Their service really not reliable... Die if only have 1 line..

Give so generous data, no use also.. If congested & no connection...
*
So true, need a backup line when using umobile.

Currently i'm happy with Umobile P48 (Main) + Hotlink Fast EM/EC (Backup).
