Yup, share yr pain as well. How stupid is umobile coming out with this idea from webe. Capped speed, quota hotspot and no mifi , no 4g dongle... people like freedom to use it all max it out whatever possible with 4g .
I think digi 150 infinite is still better plan and more daring to max things out to the user imagination ...

Umobile want to offer unlimited ... dont talk about quota and capping and limited device la ... shameful stupid h78 plan...
*
you like compare mamak meal with five star hotel meal. perhaps see what digi offer with the same price range?

obviously they are doing opposite. their network is not even 'ready' for unlimited at all, but their marketing are trying to come out such fake 'unlimited' or restrictive 'unlimited' plan just to get more subscribers.

in the end, they get $, but network infra suffers and customers are not happy due to network congestion issues etc. too.
*
what to do? so many people demand umobile for unlimited plan. now they really launch the plan, but still got people complain for it.

From what we see "Wow extra quota for video streaming, very good la U Mobile"

From what they (U Mobile) see "We reduce the bandwidth speed for video streaming so that it won't stress or cause major network congestion due to video streaming, in return we provide more quota for them"

U Mobile knows that majority of consumers (especially non tech savvy ones) are putting plans offering first, instead of network performance first. Consumers sure will get attracted and easily gain public attention with "more quota" and "unlimited" stuff. Who doesn't like more when you can get for less? So they introduce Video-Onz that limits video streaming bandwidth of 1.5Mbps (suitable for SD 480p streaming) is all because they want to have control with the network bandwidth, instead of we, consumers keep watching videos in 1080p and eventually made majority of their mobile towers congested. They don't have such capabilities to provide or upgrade bandwidth/towers in a short time like Maxis, Celcom and Digi do, where U Mobile want to increase subscribers base fast by providing the most affordable and competitive plans/offerings compared to the big 3 telcos. Indeed, U Mobile is very smart to have this idea.

So, don't expect them to increase the Video-Onz speed cap limit anytime soon... It will be stucked for 1.5Mbps for a long time.

If you're heavy video streaming user and you don't like the buffering because of the 1.5Mbps speed cap, and if you don't want to opt out Video-Onz, well then that's what you get for "get more but pay less" or known as paying "not much money for premium service". If you use a lot of GBs for video streaming, and you're expecting great streaming experience (e.g. no buffering even at 1080p), definitely you got to opt out Video-Onz so that you wont have the speed cap limit, and then subscribe data plans that offers a lot of quota, and a higher price of cos.  Remember, once you're on U Mobile network, you shall not expecting a premium network performance from them. You can only expect an "average, satisfied enough" network from them. U Mobile prioritise on quantity rather than quality. If you want better network, you got no choice but to port out to other telcos and choose their more expensive plans.

In conclusion, you'll get "something in return" when you get more by paying less.

True. But their 4G is more stable compared to 3G because it fluctuates between H and H+.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ May 18 2017, 03:36 PM)
I beg to differ. I would say the other way round. Their 4G coverage sucks especially when you are indoors.
*
this is depend on area. sometimes 4G is better sometimes 3G is better.
