heading direct to the banks will give you a clearer picture

and also other financial institutions
they charge you, but they earn it

CDS account is with Bursa and only Bursa; basically holds all your shares. You can trade with any broker but at the end of the day, the CDS account is maintained by Bursa and each month they will send you statements; not unlike a bank statement but this time its shares flowing in and out rather than money.

Added on March 15, 2007, 3:04 pmCan only have one CDS account with each Broker for individuals; unless you also have a nominee account then can be more.

HWANG-DBS INVESTMENT BANK BERHAD
(Formerly known as HWANG-DBS SECURITIES BHD)
Shah Alam Branch
16th, 18th-20th Floor, Plaza Masalam
2 Jalan Tengku Ampuan Zabedah
E9/E Section 9
40100 Shah Alam

Most probably will open one acc. with them. Reason being, its nearest to me.

Will still need advice on the right way to choose where to open a CDS acc.

Commission for online trading are nearly same across the board; or at most very marginal difference.

Go for the top brokers; pick whom you are comfortable dealing with. In terms of service etc. Also, which is most convenient for you. We're not aware of your circumstances so our respective choices are based on who we think is best.

Estremely subjective.

Question:

There is a OSK investment bank near my place. I just have to walk in and open an account right? Thinking of doing it tomorrow.
