hi guys, let's talk about photo printer

one set canon ink and paper is about RM120. 100 sheets. so I assume it can print at least 50 sheets full colour ? comes about RM 2.40 per sheet. or rm1.20 per sheet if print 100 sheets

fuji instax paper 10 sheets are rm30. so, rm3 per paper.

anyone has experience with both? which is more economical ? what about Zink printers from polaroid and LG ?

Wrong comparison. By right they are totally different things. What's your use for the printer first? Some will stick with the Instax Mini films while some will opt for the selphy printer. Depending on your use of the prints.

Here's just an honest comparison,

Printer price - Selphy wins. Cheaper than Fuji SP-2 printer
Paper price - Selphy wins. Cheaper for print per cost compared to Instax films. Plain films is around RM 20-28 cheapest I've seen so far
Portability -

1. Fuji SP-2 wins in terms of size and weight.
2. Fuji SP-2 wins as it has a rechargeable battery while the Canon Selphy needs a power source. No battery pack to print on the go.

Usability - subjective. Selphy printer prints layer by layer so takes time to dry. Instax films uses chemical so no worries about touching the film instantly after printing.

A few things to take note too:

Fuji printer can only use the Instax Mini film. Instax wide and upcoming Instax square films can't be used for now.
Paper size is different. One is credit card size while another is 4R size. Which do you prefer?

Use this as a guide to help you on your purchase. It's not complete but I think it'll help you make your decision on which suits you more.

The easiest way to determine is this:

1. Travel - Fujifilm SP-2
2. Home/Office - Canon Selphy

On average, if you are rarely using it and only for travel, the cost won't affect you that much to be honest. Perhaps once or twice a year? Besides, to print 4R, you can easily print at shops still. Large batch can still get good price.
