QUOTE(Jjuggler @ Dec 18 2017, 06:54 PM) I agree. Trust me, if you're a heavy user, e.g. torrenting, your cpu load usually shoots up to 100%. I wonder do tplink did a proper testing before releasing the firmware. I believe the hardware used in c1200 is good. But how come such crappy firmware passed the testing? not only during torrenting, downloads using IDM caused it to hang and dropping connection.

C3150 have some seriously good wireless ability. Stability is good, I own one and a few people at the TP-Link thread have good experience with it. RT-AC68U is a bit old at this point but the features it offers are amazing. AsusWRT is still the best in the industry in terms of features. Avoid AC87U, the 5Ghz wireless is known for being problematic due to the Quantenna chipset. Mikrotik is the hardcore choice. Fully fledged networking features but not easy to tame. If that's your thing, you can consider that. It's all about preference. I would go for the C3150 just for the sake of wireless performance. If it's a home router, you probably do not need those routing features in a Mikrotik router anyway. Wireless performance is much more important. Currently eyeing c3150 and asus rt-ac1200g+, any advices on which one is better to get?

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jan 3 2018, 03:58 PM) The C3150 is 3 times the price of AC1200G+ It depends on your budget. Not problem with the budget. Based on your experience with both devices, which one is better? Thanks
