Dear all /k.

In term of TICKET PRICE, TGV or MBO or GSC ?

In term of the Cinema Design, TGV or MBO or GSC?

In term of movies? Seats?

Bcoz ayam noob before this always thought GSC as the king of cinemas.

Not until 2 days ago ayam went to MBO CITTA Mall. Damn the interior design is superb with colourful and lego themed. Seriously incredible.
But sadly the seat is actually too close between the front and back ayam seat back also see people head in the front. sad sad.

So kum share opinion /k

TGV is most expensive. GSC has the best online system. MBO good for walk-in because there'll always be seats. LOL.

Haha I'm fully agree with you thumbup.gif

TGV is expensive from ticket price to concession. 6 pieces of mini sausages and a regular drink cost RM14? WTF to that.
*
Yup I agree. Last time kena RM20++ for a single standard movie ticket not 3D no nothing.

MBO - collect points. cheapest. not many peeps (weekdays morning show).

GSC - the sound system and very comfortable.

TGV - no like... sound not nice. seat very small for a 6'1"
*
Collect points at MBO? Later can redeem what? Never knew bout that

Pricing:
TGV most expensive.

Cinema quality and seat
TGV the best (that is why most expensive).
If you in for action / scifi movies, TGV Imax 2D would be the one to go.
If you bring gf/bf, TGV beanie would be your best choice.
TGV more cinema types and option, that suit specific need.

Value for money:
GSC (the price can be 30-40% cheaper than TGV sometime, depend on mall)

Easy to get ticket:
If you in the rush, no pre-booking, MBO then, but mind you, the seat might be dirty sometime.

Wow a very nice comprehensive answer. Appreciate it!
But still for me TGV is a no no bcoz expensive as farkkk

How bout MBO? Last sunday i watch Fast 8, RM16 only ticket.

QUOTE(fapman @ Apr 18 2017, 11:37 AM)
And my answer to ts, my vote goes to TGV as it's more comfortable compared to GSC except for TGV klcc (the seats suck!). But the downside is TGV is slightly expensive compared to GSC.

About the seat comfortably, most new cinemas provide large enough seats, either TGV or GSC.

But TGV KLCC is not worth it, the premium price for that location cannot justify its old and small seating.

And nobody talks about the pricing of popcorn?

Price: GSC > TGV
Size: TGV > GSC hence more expensive. But nowadays TGV introduced boxed popcorn instead of bucketed popcorn. Not sure if the volume reduced

Can anyone recall about 3-5 years back then GSC had all titles labeled as 2D which the movie quality was so HD?

Not sure if the cinemas lowered movie quality or my short-sighted is worsened sad.gif its quite blurr these days
*
At GSC: RM11.++ I get = 1 Large Popcorn + 2 Large Soft Drink

At TGV, how much for the popcorn?

I go to GSC for its: wednesday special/student promo/maybank promo

Fark TGV for its differential pricing. Some TGV cinemas only have 2 rows of standard seats doh.gif might as well label all as preferred seats
*
GSC got maybank promo ke? That one bukan TGV?

Gsc - price ok, excellent online system, new halls/sound system Atmos/DD/Maxx are really good.. Definitely the best

Tgv- bloody expensive..known for fancy seats i.e beanie/indulge etc but lousy screen and sound..quite old fashioned..and their online system doh.gif

MBO - I call it budget theatre smile.gif meant for lower income group..

guys wanna ask you, which seating position is the best in the cinema. imagine got A until N. A being closest to the screen. Got 17 seat in each row. Which one you guys prefer
*
It really depends on the hall itself as imap.cc mentioned.

If small hall, always opt for the most back seat.

If big hall, opt for middle seat.

Just saw the RM10 for all movies before 6PM Maybank promo on the side of TGV Escalator .I always go RM8/9 movies before Noon on sunday and all day RM9 Wednesday but now i think no need anymore. can go to the before 6PM shows.

In Kuching TGV is best , Wide leg room in all of their halls , halls are quite big. Never go to GSC after TGV opened here in Kuching.

As a few mentioned about the App side of things, the app is now quite OK if you just jump straight to "Favorite " location after launch it will show the movies and showtimes for your local cinemas instead of choosing the movie and then the cinema.

The Pay by Masterpass Buy 1 free 1 (on next visit) promo is still going on and the free pass is good for ALL new and old movies and can be used on public holiday too. Just saw "Ready Player One" on Public Holiday( Good Friday) using it. (the Android app have a glitch that it will autoclose during masterpass payment if your MSOS code was sent to u and you need to jump out to Messaging to read the code, so a lot of people cannot complete payment with Masterpass) I just use my ipad to buy and read the code on my android phone and get the free pass biggrin.gif  they will email you a bar code and you need to claim physically at the Boxoffice.

I find the cheapest now would be the RHB RM8 Ticket for MBO, any movie, anytime.Only need to use either your RHB Debit Card or Credit Card

Despite the limitation to only 4,000 tickets each month, seems like people didnt really use it that much. (Last sunday 14Oct, ayam still can use it.)

RHB RM8 Everyday
