When you are helping a fund to sell their funds part of the annual fees will be given to the seller of the fund. The bigger the fund and the more customer POEMS have the bigger the pay. Not to mentioned they charged exorbant fees for overseas trading and dividend fees, so some Singaporean who are kiasi (scared of losing their life basically in our discussion take it as money) will just open brokerage with them and pay the higher commision and pay the dividend fees so that they can have peace of mind that got office in sg. So I case anything happen, they can go to office and make noise. Yes there are lots of rich uncles and auntiess in Singapore who are doing that. They scoff at opening account overseas cause said no safety and no peace of mind. Remember, the markup is substantial day USD20 on POEMS Vs IBKR at USD 0.35.
