Might prove to be a problem when shooting and then giving a direct feed to your television but you wouldn't be doing that too often. Once burnt onto the DVD shouldn't be a problem since most DVD players in malaysia are multi region as well.
I thought the camera allow you to choose either NTSC and PAL format in the setting ? same like digital camera!
