Hi, I have a MBP mid 2012 13-inch and run MacOS Sierra. I also have an iPhone 6.

But I have noticed for a while now that when I send an SMS to someone from my phone, it displays the receiver's name and number as usual, however when I open Messages on my MBP, it does not display the name of the receiver, only the mobile number. I have tried searching for answers on various apple forums but no satisfactory solution.

Thought I would ask here. Any ideas? Both MBP and iPhone are up-to-date with software etc. confused.gif

you did't not sync the contact list from your phone to mac? Open the Contact in your mac and check.

Has something to do with your iCloud contacts. My hunch is its not sync properly. Try turning on/off iCloud on both iPhone and Mac. Make sure you are on wifi when you do it.

Also, maybe related, is something called "dial assist" (i'm not sure if mac has this, but iphone has this feature), probably the "+60" prefix not set on mac like it is on iphone, so your contacts dunno who is who.
