Just went to MyPharmacy and it uses Amex. On top of that, being a member there have 10% off. So it's effectively 14.5% cash back.

They using public bank terminal, i notice all of the public bank terminal merchant do not accept amex.
even you try insert it will decline.

Some petron doesnt accept amex too, especially both Petron that in Genting.
*It will show error after insert PIN.

I can understand that public bank terminals in 99 Speedmart do not accept Amex. However, it is not entirely correct to say that all of the Public Bank terminals used by other merchants do not accept Amex.

At least for Sushi Zanmai in Sunway Velocity Mall, Cheras, the Public Bank credit card terminal there can accept Amex.

Caring pharmacy also using PBB terminal.
But when i want to pay with amex, the staff took out ambank terminal for amex.
Maybe the rate is different.

My experience with Caring Pharmacy is almost same as you.

At one outlet of Caring Pharmacy, it used to have Public Bank credit card terminal that could accept Amex.

Early this year, the outlet changed to Ambank credit card terminal. Thankfully, the terminal still accepts Amex.

No matter that it is a RHB, Public Bank or Ambank credit card terminal, the terminal can accept Amex, provided that the proper tagging / linkage is done between the terminal and Amex system maintained by Maybank.

The thing is that the merchant has to pay some fee to Maybank for such linkage. Some merchants refuse to pay the fee, thus some credit card terminals cannot accept Amex.

Not neccessary must go bank.
U can either using GIRO interbank transfer from your others bank,
or go maybank for cash deposit.

If you are a good customer, you can usually request for an increase in limit temporarily.

I've requested few times for large purchases and they have no issues granting it as I settled it immediately few days later

But MBB still refuse to give me a higher CL.
