I would attend because the chit chat thing is not a commitment or anything. Not attending it shows you are disinterested with PETRONAS (not just the research side) and if I know how Petronas works, the don't take this kind of slight lightly. There is no harm going but possible harm not going ....

Yeah, i definitely going for the session..however do you know what is exactly they do at PRSB, as i am PE background..
Thank for the reply anyway..:-)

Petronas Research now concentrates mostly on doing research and I believe one of their thrust is now doing Enhanced Oil Recovery. I was in PRSS (the SS is probably gone now) for 7 years and it was a good and laid back place. There is a huge core lab and PVT lab as well and I think they should be able to do SCAL work as well. So in terms of fundamental PE work, that is a good place to be. They are also one of the units task with ensuring the Chemical EOR project in Angsi is successful so that would be exciting.

I have known (myself included) several PRSB staff who gained their experience there and then moved to Operating Units like Carigali and even PMU and moved on to become expatriates.

I remembered it being separated from the PE Skill group previously or maybe it was just the unit in PCSB that was separated. I would suspect that it will be under SG-10 so you should be in Tier 1 (if they still have that tier thingamagic), I've heard of a lot of policy changes lately that is causing some distress amongst staff.

hi there..

just wondering, it is background of study or your work determine which tier you end up with? ie, let say i am PE student and end up in planning team like turnaround team, so which tier will it be considered?
p/s: last time i have chit chat session, they told me the work they offered me is under tier 1, so i guess the tier things still there smile.gif

hi there,

let say I'm bonded with PETRONAS and my contract say I need to work with PETRONAS for 10 years, and if I wish to jump for other company after a few years working with PETRONAS, do I have to pay the amount exactly what I owed them even before I joined PETRONAS?

thanks.
