QUOTE(fernandium @ Apr 8 2013, 09:58 PM) Hi, I have a simple question. I am told to put my expected salary in my application form to apply for a job in PETRONAS Floating LNG1 (PFLNG1), but I don't know what to put. Can someone suggest an amount or a range of amount to me? For your information, I am a fresh graduate with a master's degree majoring in chemical engineering from an overseas university. 4k sounds decent. But that's for Fresh Grad degree students |

QUOTE(carl90 @ Apr 9 2013, 04:01 PM) I got a rare case actually. I was offered a drilling position in January, but due to NS HR told me that i would be offered with other position once i am available. The thing is, when i called HR and tell them that i have finish my NS, she said "wow why so fast u finish NS.2months very fast eh".later i asked her about my placement and she answered "I'm sorry, position for april is full already.I have to put your name in a new list and wait for other department to select. There will be a new intake maybe around June or July". I was like WTF!! Once selected, why would i get into selection list again? Petronas HR very disappointing.Didn't answer to call,e-mail,slow with work, forgetful etc2... i'm dealing with Ms.A since it has been 6 months,i don't know whether im entitled for a release letter or not QUOTE(buttercup313 @ Apr 9 2013, 04:35 PM) I stopped waiting for awhile and hunt somewhere else. Better have back up. I feel you brah. Good things come to those who wait. Try to have faith in that. The very first thing I was told when the HR greeted me was something that goes like this, "Just so you know we are interviewing your for a pool. When someone resigns only the you will get a placement." I did ask how many are there ahead of me. The HR guy said none. So hopefully I won't have to wait that long since I applied for a technical position / elec eng. It sucks to know that you are put on a reserve list. I still have a few other companies emailing me to arrange interviews with them. But I am dead tired after the SI. Almost 3 jam I had to talk talk talk talk. I'm all tuckered outI applied for non-technical position. First they put me as a candidate for Business Development Exec. But the offer I got is for marketing exec This post has been edited by mannquin: Apr 11 2013, 03:12 PM |

QUOTE(orangeong6 @ Apr 19 2013, 03:42 PM) Petronas is a great company to work in IF you dont plan to work overseas. As petronas is a Malaysia company so their working area only covers Malaysia and mostly in rural areas like Terengganu and Labuan, Sabah. Totally no entertainment at all. If you wish to have an increase in salary, i suggest schlumberger, an international company. You'll be earning dollars instead of Ringgit! I beg to differ. Petronas is a MNC. And not everyone in Slb get paid in foreign currencyThink twice before u make your choice! =) Anyhow it's been almost 2 weeks. Passed my SI and job placement is still pending This post has been edited by mannquin: Apr 21 2013, 01:39 PM |

QUOTE(justnadz90 @ Apr 30 2013, 11:11 AM) it is possible to change HR who incharge us during SI since there are no any updates made by the HR regarding job placement more than 1 month already.. called her and no answer... I'm afraid that is not possible. I once thought of doing that and I expressed my thoughts to a different HR since she looks more keen in hiring me. But the answer I got was negative. She said they are unable to do that since I am currently tied to that HR unless I am released by them only then she can take me in. Something that goes along that line. But who knows, you can just try and give it a shot. There's no harm in trying |

A quick update
Got a call last thursday and a medical check up form sent to my email account. Booked an appointment with Prince Court. Went for a check up the next day at 9 in the morning. Got a call from the HR around 4 o'clock, went straight to KLCC to pick my offer letter and some other documents. Glad that finally I made it! Will be attending PIPE on the 16th, reporting in on the 30th. Damn it things were moving so fast. I didn't see all this coming. Both excited and nervous at the moment. QUOTE(aiman04 @ May 9 2013, 10:40 AM) Hi guys, right now filling up the forms before reporting for duty, my hand getting tired already. Anyone. I simply put my mom's details in that section. Regarding the fingerprint ink pad, just pay a visit to any post office nearby they should have it. I did mine at KWSP after getting my EPF registration doneA few questions, the witnesses in the Service Agreement and GTLA forms we can find anyone right? Or do we have to leave it empty for PETRONAS staffs? Now need to find the ink to put my thumb print on the GTLA form. |

QUOTE(kripton888 @ May 15 2013, 02:48 AM) Dear Sifus, what does reserved candidates mean? Imagine you are in a queue. But I ain't sure whether or not it's first in first out. I have a strong feeling whenever there is a candidate under the same HR who did better than you, they will be put in that queue as well but could be in front of you. It sucks to know you're in a reserve list. I was once there too but thank god I had to wait only for 2 weeks. Patience is a virtue but it's a pain in the ass too. Do some sort of systematic follow up or in other words keep bugging them but don't over do it. I fear that they will get annoyed and that could hinder the process of you getting a job placementin the email the HR said im a reserved candidate, they have problem issuing the offer letter because she said...wait for it......"they have no office space currently"...ikr lol. the department she mention was pcsb drilling. i've been waiting for 5 months already since i graduated, 6 months already from my SI. any1 knows whats currently going on in pcsb klcc? is it that bad the situation...does it look like im gona have to wait longer? EDIT : Oh shoot, I just noticed you've been waiting for 6 months is that correct? I was told our SI result is only valid for 6 months then you gotta re-attend the SI. Correct me if I am wrong but has anyone else heard of this too? This post has been edited by mannquin: May 15 2013, 07:53 AM |

QUOTE(klein @ Jul 19 2013, 05:54 PM) That's what I've been told. RAPID is also known as ORTC. I thought batch 5 was the last one yet I still get recruited. Only when those people who are in this programme resign they will start hiring againMy timeline: Handed in my resume on March 1st, got a call and attended SI on April 1st, received offer letter exactly a month later, May 1st. Attended PIPE on the 15th. Quite fast I'd say. I'm no Petronas scholar, and I've got no relatives/siblings/cables whatsoever in Petronas. Hope that sheds some light This post has been edited by mannquin: Jul 21 2013, 10:07 PM |

QUOTE(dikae @ Aug 6 2013, 03:59 PM) salary / benefits/ perks are fantastic, it is PETRONAS afterall. Only salary is fantastic for fresh grads. Benefits & perks? Nope. Try to compare the new scheme and the old one. You'll see whybut office using old systems and equipment a little old too... well I think it depends on individual |
