If you're a PE then there's a slim chance u will be posted to SBO. But for PE in petronas, there will be a one year training for junior engineers, consists of 3 months attachment at regional office (SKO,SBO,PMO). If you're lucky maybe u can do ur attachment at SBO. Heheh

Hi there, thanks for replying :-)
Can i noe y PE Slim chance? They dun hav operations there anymore izit?
Also the one year training the attachment izit a 1 time thingy? Meaning oni 1 regional office for 3 months then no more.
Appreciate the info, ty :-)

Most PE are concentrated in the Head Office, there is a PE Division in KLCC and there is about 1000 people in that division. I am not sure if there still some Surveillance Units (they had them in each Regional office before) but I think before I left, the re-organized and moved everyone into SI based at the HQ.

looks like its a real slim chance neway thanks for da reply

workload is higher and its more stressful working with Schlumberger and others.. so at the end of the day, its up to individual to decide what they want and whether it is worth it..

as for me, i like having enough time, esp the weekends all to myself blush.gif

oh, I would like to share my experience here.

around mid of december 2012, I went for SI (I'm a PETRONAS scholar)
SI result was out around 31st January 2013 (Gotta wait till our final examination result came out)
a week later, 7th February (if Im not mistaken) received a phone call for placement from PETRONAS. (like chitchat session or something)
I was told that the medical check up letter will be emailed after chinese new year.
Due to some graduation problem I received the medical check up letter a bit late than as told. But not that late la. I received it last Monday. (On previous Friday they called me to inform on the kelewatan)

And yesterday I went to PUSRAWI, do all the medical checkup and stuff. At around 3 I sent the result to HRM at KLCC.
And early this morning, I received the offer letter through email (so fast meh! I was so surprised, (iyalah, after reading through this thread))

Oh the conclusion is, I guess HR PETRONAS is not that slow.
Plus if I'm not mistaken, different OPU has their own different HR.

I'll be reporting for duty this coming 1st, March.

and my PIPE will start on 18th March. biggrin.gif

p/s:  drool.gif pretty excited to start working at PETRONAS. I'm looking for any kind of guidances and experiences from all of you here.  icon_idea.gif  Thank you!

Not yet. Just saying that It has been confirmed but still no info on nothing. How bout you mate?

im still waiting no news so far, kinda lazy to call also as i dun think they can make the process any faster, i guess in a mass recruitment (i.e UTP grads) the early one's who got offer mostly placed in PMU, as one of HR told me after SI the resume will be circulated and PMU has the priority to pick first than other departments/OPU's later on.

Dear Sifus, what does reserved candidates mean?

in the email the HR said im a reserved candidate, they have problem issuing the offer letter because she said...wait for it......"they have no office space currently"...ikr lol.

the department she mention was pcsb drilling.

i've been waiting for 5 months already since i graduated, 6 months already from my SI.

any1 knows whats currently going on in pcsb klcc?
is it that bad the situation...does it look like im gona have to wait longer?

Imagine you are in a queue. But I ain't sure whether or not it's first in first out. I have a strong feeling whenever there is a candidate under the same HR who did better than you, they will be put in that queue as well but could be in front of you. It sucks to know you're in a reserve list. I was once there too but thank god I had to wait only for 2 weeks. Patience is a virtue but it's a pain in the ass too. Do some sort of systematic follow up or in other words keep bugging them but don't over do it. I fear that they will get annoyed and that could hinder the process of you getting a job placement

EDIT : Oh shoot, I just noticed you've been waiting for 6 months is that correct? I was told our SI result is only valid for 6 months then you gotta re-attend the SI. Correct me if I am wrong but has anyone else heard of this too?
*
well i will systematically follow up with them as quite a number of my frens are in the same situation as me.
sad to know that im still in a queue after so long.
