Hi all,

I have a question, I am a fresh grad in Mechanical Eng and was recently informed via email that I passed the SI interview held in washington DC back in mid March and they just needed a couple of my final transcripts "to assist us to process the application" as they quoted. I'm not familiar at all with the process and I doubt ill get a decent and fast response by emailing the HR manager. Does that mean I have to go for more interviews/processes or do I just patiently wait? Need some advice. Thanks!

Lol my SI in April, result in may. Waiting for offer letter until now haha. Guess I shd go job hunting as back up first. Good luck to both of us!

Haha. Just talked to a friend working in Petronas (friend is one of the HR managers in non-technical field unfortunately) and she said a good chance the fresh grads will get offers in September. But still fingers crossed T.T Are you fresh grad as well?

I think most ppl here got their result latest 1 month after SI. During SI just dont 'gelabah' and be confident haha. After you pass your SI just pray that your file is handled efficiently, Petronas filing system is horrible i heard lol, but thats expected coz its such a huge company. You a fresh grad?

yeah, that was what she told me. Its either September, January or April. However since you are a Petronas scholar the process should be much smoother I'd assume, as they give priority to their own students. Im also from technical field but im only a Mara scholar, just graduated as well xD. However don't take my word for it, my friend is hr for non technical department, so she can only assume as well

wow already attached to overseas project? thats so nice haha. If you dont mind me asking when you applied for petronas were you a fresh grad? also which department are you?

Finally got offer letter -.-

This is why I'm so relieved:

1. Apply Discover Petronas: mid january 2013
2. Received SI appointment: end of march 2013
3. SI: 19 April 2013 (along with a hundred over other applicants I think)
4. SI result: end of May 2013 (just graduated from uni at same time)
5. Medical check letter: start of October 2013 (Submitted med result same day)
6. Offer letter: 8 Oct 2013 (report for PIPE 18 Nov 2013)

Timeline from application --> Offer letter = 9 months. Mad torture for me....had no idea it will take that long. Maybe coz I'm a fresh graduate.

I didnt read the previous posts in this thread so once i got result didnt bother applying anywhere....which left me 5 months on my part time job (took part time so if petronas came calling i can quit anytime). Only after reading posts from sifus here i decided to apply elsewhere, but thankfully Petronas got back to me .

As for Petronas HR, I dont think its fair to label them as extremely slow. Sure some are and some even rude, but I was very thankful to my HR manager who first handled my case. I'm pretty sure she had loads of other applicants to handle and whenever I called her to enquire she was always understanding and tried her best to communicate with my department. Should blame the atrocious filing system for Petronas.....even their own HR are complaining about it.

Btw any Pipeline Engineer around here? If so can enlighten me about the job scope in petronas?

Also anyone else attending PIPE next month??

I was initially scheduled for PIPE on 18th nov, but now they changed it to 2 Dec. So I guess Ill see you at both work and PIPE since I report for duty on 18th as well haha. Which OPU are you in?

btw are you gonna park there in klcc? im thinking of just taking the lrt since its mad $$$ to park there the whole day lol
