Hi everyone, I am a newbie in this forum. I was wondering if anyone can be so kind as to give me some insight about the Finance department at Petronas. I am having my SI with Petronas this Wednesday for the position in their Finance department. I'm a fresh grad who just finished my ACCA examinations. I have a degree in Accounting and Finance from one of the leading universities in the UK. I'm also an ACCA Affiliate with only 4months of work experience so far I have tried my best to find some information on the Finance department at Petronas on this forum and on Google as a whole but to no avail. I got through to the Petronas SI as Petronas advertised to students currently in the UK that they're coming for the recruitment process. As I am a non-Petronas scholar, I wonder if the selection process would be any different than their own scholars. I would be really grateful if anyone can provide some insight about the Finance department, the pay and benefit schemes for the Finance staff as whole, etc. p.s : Sorry for the long post! QUOTE(firdaus87 @ May 15 2012, 06:13 AM) I am being called for SI next week... what should i prepare? Salam Firdaus, I had my SI recently for an entry position in the Finance department. In terms of preparation, I'd say just do the usual interview preparation stuff such as making sure that you have all your certs ready and be prepared for competency based questions. It all depends on the panels that you have on that day actually. The role plays can be a bit daunting but so long as you keep your composure and be positive, you'll be fine. Hope that helps a bit. Best of luck for your SI S x This post has been edited by chibimoon: May 20 2012, 07:10 AM

QUOTE(terence90 @ May 16 2013, 01:06 PM) Why there is always no vacancy in Finance & Account position? Anyone can refer me to go into... Thanks a lot... Hi Terence, There are a number of vacancies in Finance divisions in Petronas for both Upstream and Downstream. However, maybe there are not very well-advertised on the website. What's your background if I may ask?

QUOTE(Mavik @ May 20 2013, 12:12 PM) Petronas is a great place to work at! I agree. One might not have an easy life working with Petronas but it's definitely a great place to work. One gets to learn a lot every single day

QUOTE(The Net Surfer @ Jun 9 2013, 07:43 AM) The working progress is sluggish, too many Bumiputera (not trying to be racist) Spent the available budget in unreasonable way e.g. Bought system and device and in the end nobody make use of it Well, it's a good place to work for if you look for a job which compensate you good, and no tough workload Don't know what you mean by the working progress is sluggish but trust me Petronas is in no way like your typical Bumiputera company. Sure we have lots of Bumis there but it is by no means run like a government agency. Sorry that I have to disagree with the last bit too. Whoever thinks that working with Petronas is easy is deluded. Yes, the staff do get pretty handsome bonuses and pay rise but the company really does work one's backs*de off particularly if you're working in Upstream. I have been on a constant 7am-8pm work schedule for the past month or so and have to bring work home sometimes. It really depends on which OPU and department one works at as well as the season This post has been edited by chibimoon: Jun 14 2013, 07:36 PM

QUOTE(oilhunter @ Jun 14 2013, 11:44 AM) I dont know how long does it take Im still not getting reponse from Petronas. its almost a month now since I had an interview Well I was offered verbally during the first few minutes of the SI. However, the official offer was only made by the HR about two to three months after that. So, go figure. However, in their defence, Petronas really does interview lots of candidates so it really takes quite sometime to get back to each candidate. So, patience is key Hope the interview turned out well
