One of the most ridiculuos policy in petronas will be revoked. Alhamdulillah. My friends melompat2 seronok last nite, when this very pic of the document went viral. Thank God the new HR's VP takes into consideration of what people are feeling/ saying about this bullshit, implemented by her predecessor which I believe is a complete idiot.

Ps: Bro Azraeil, he's one of the EVPs right now? The other 3 seemed highly unlikely to be such a person, let alone the COO who looks like a down-to-earth person to me. Is it the 'whitehead'?

Well my brother will be happy as well (though I'm not) coz his girlfriend is also a Petronas scholar. I teased him that he can't work with Petronas then because of the policy .... now cannot say that lah. And I so wish he would boraden his horizon a bit .... high-school girlfriend is so passe'.

Well now he can also usha those CDU/CPDD girls .... heh heh heh ... jahat punya abang ....

As I mentioned in my older post, the HR is the culprit in disseminating rumours especially about increments and bonuses. They seem to think that this kind of activity will retain staff when the opposite is true.

The previous management gave too much power to HR and stressed that everyone contributes equally to the company so the remuneration scheme is the same across the board. This mentality is probably okay if you are working in government office but for an MNC to have this kind of mentality in the 21st century is suicidal.

The performance management review/assessment is also another factor. I mean, I worked my ass off and only got a rating of 3 because my boss expected me to work like a higher grade code because that's where he envisioned I would be in the future. How's that for a dumb ass reason for not giving me a good rating. Instead of ranking me against my peers, I am being ranked with my future self. That rating 3 is also given to those who ponteng kerja, who does drugs so basically in the grand scheme of things, I am not better than those people.

I worked 10 years and my gaji at the time was not even 7K. A middle east company offered me 6 times more and tax free. It was a no brainier. This is basically the same story that you will hear from a lot of ex-pet. A company that had delusions of grandeur and deaf and blind to staff's proposal and market movement in the industry.

If you talk to any headhunter, the current climate is called "Scarced Tecnical Professionals Market". So for PETRONAS at the time to NOT taking any steps was foolish and down right criminal.

Hmm..now I understand why. He was your boss i guess. hmm.gif

Still reading previous threads. A lot of history. I was surprised there were time people stayed until 9pm. Now 7pm, the office is cleared.

Because so little people staying late (except for my boss, he stayed late (7-8pm) because he came late), I feel semacam when I am alone. So many stories I heard..especially in block C (that is where my office) sad.gif .

Block C is petronas research (prsb), not in klcc. It is linked by sky bridge to block B. So we do have sky bridge in prsb. thumbup.gif

Just wondering, From PETH can join the PCSB or not? The benefit, bonus, entitlement same for both OPU or not?  hmm.gif  rclxub.gif
*
I don't think they will release you to PCSB easy. It is the same case for me where I was recruited for PRSB and I wanted to go to PCSB and there is people in PCSB who want me but I can't go unless PRSB is willing to release me.

It is difficult for OPU who request you to release since they are also short of people. Unless they recruite you for suka2.

They will tell you in Petronas there is mobility between OPUs. But for my case there is no such thing. Welcome to Petronas.

Thanks bro. I had a Technical Assessment and SI both on the same day as they need somebody for the position urgently. Came out exhausted but overall satisfied (I've done better with Shell though).

They're kind of look warily when they see my expected salary. Anyone has any idea what to expect of Petronas' offer of a 10-year experience in geoscience? Without factoring my current salary as I know they sometimes offer lower than current as if the have their own scale to refer.

maybe 10-20k or i guess 15k. same level as e3

bro, this comes from personal experience or just hear say?I find it quite low for someone with 10 years experience in petroleum/geoscience.....

If this is true,I wonder how Petronas attract or retain their technical staff
*
I just ask around...e3 would get around 15k, e4...25k...e5...35k. This what people said these days. I am not sure the exact amount. Could be higher.

One thing for sure, contract staff earns much2 higher. e3 would get 80k.

As a Geoscientist, you will be required to go offshore once in a while to observe drilling. You expect servicing company to do that?? Go and analyze data yourself lerrr
*
For me I don't mind going to offshore once in a while. Working there fulltime with josebis pay I will think twice. Even now, as researcher, I still have to go for sampling and pilot monitoring in the future.

I think now iPerintis is wholly owned by Petronas. Maybe you can apply through iPerintis.

If I am not mistaken, petronas contribute 13% to EPF.

Once confirmed it is increased to 15%. After 5 years up 17% and after 10 years up to 19%. That is max. This is based on PIPE module.

Hi bro, just wondering, for a new hire to be eligible for bonus, apart from being confirmed, does he or she need to work "more than 6 months" or "at least 6 months"? Just wondering as I will be starting on 1st July, meaning it won't be in the "more than" category.
*
I don't think u will get bonus for 2013. Unless u confirm before 2013end. Your bonus will be pro rated based on days after confirmation. If u can push hr to make ujoin petronas in may or june, u will confirm before 2013 end and u r eligible for bonus. Since i am confirmed in march 2013, i dont get any this year. It is the same for my friend who confirmed in early january 2013. Don't hope too much until u r confirmed.

I know for a fact that if you miss the cut-off date even for 1 day (for promotion, merit, bonus or what not), PETRONAS HR will really follow the rule to the letter in not giving you those things ....

Knowledge is power and Petronas HR likes their power and therefore they keep all the necessary policies etc close to their chests. I had an executive handbook before which probably have not been updated for ages. I think I wrote somewhere my current company Industrial Relations Manual which is 17 chapters long with 7 appendixes and we have 7 different payrolls. I love it because it's all transparent and if you have any questions with regards to anything (your entitlement etc etc), you just send a query to personnel and they will respond with the necessary clarifications. And the IR Manual is updated regularly (at the minimum every quarter) and any changes to policies will be updated in the IR Manual as well. They will even inform you which paragraph, in which chapter changes have been made. They put the IR Manual on the intranet so you can always download the PDF version and read it at your leisure

Think PETRONAS HR will do that ??? ....
*
I agree that there are many unwritten hr policies. Last time, during the on introduction session with hr, they said there is no more technical allowance. Since no more technical allowance, hr can deny any salary adjustment for new technical staff. No wrjtten policy for the increment. Then hr is not obligatory to do the adjustment.

Until recently, some new staff bring this issue to the management. Only then they just started looking into it. Some of them had waited for more than 6 months after one year. Still dont get it.

Seem that this issue due to disatifaction if non technical staff to the technical allowance and salary grouping according to tier.
