Hi all, Glad to inform that Ive passed my SI (last Thursday) and has been offered an E2 position, provided that I pass the medical test. Now waiting for the Medical Test referral letter. The HR mentioned that I should be doing it at PUSRAWI KL since the results are faster. Any idea where else I can do it? Probably somewhere near to Shah Alam. Btw, thanks for all the infos and help that i got from all Gurus in here. Jasamu dikenang.

QUOTE(Kitteh @ Nov 7 2012, 03:24 AM) Bro azraeil, How likely is it for an executive to get transferred from.. lets say Carigali to PMU (one OPU to another) or from a technical role to commercial role? It happens all the time. Most PMU staff that I worked with previously are now the big shots in Carigali and vice versa. I think the process goes like this, if you want to transfer, approach the department head or the middle manager of the department that you'd like to transfer to. If the have vacancies, they'll ask for your resume (internally of course) and if they like the fit, they will contact your current department for the possibility of transfer. Also, once you're set into wanting to transfer, write in your PPA in the comments section that you'd like to broaden your horizon etc and that you'd like to request for a transfer to X department in x OPU. It's a slow process but if the other department has persuasive boss, he should be able to get you in. Added on November 10, 2012, 2:48 pmQUOTE(azmirsafuan @ Nov 9 2012, 05:14 PM) Any chemist vacancy at petronas? You should try either Petronas Research (they have labs and they usually requires Chemist) or EPTC which is involved in EOR projects in Malaysia. Bro Azraeil, I heard in PRSB, it is harder now to transfer to Carigali or elsewhere. The most that I heard is EPTC. I guess I will be in PRSB for quite a while. I guess I will be in PRSB for quite a while. Previously PRSB had a technical consultancy services which means that the skill sets required is the same as the ones in Carigali sans the Operation part. Now I hear that PRSB is exclusively research base so it will be difficult to transfer to Carigali as your skill sets will mostly be alligned to EPTC instead of Carigali which is involved in day to day operations and some asset study team.

Bro Azraeil,
Can you share the job scope and routines of Reservoir Engineers? Do they stay in the office all the time?

I would love to try out new environment and new things after 2-3 at my soon-to-be OPU.

That will take at least 2-3 paragraphs. I'll boil it down to this couple of sentences They take care of the field in terms or reservoir management/performance so basically they are the subsurface leaders.

Nowadays it is getting harder, you need to get up to VP PM level for the final approval before you can transfer to a different OPU.

It's the same, they check on your blood, urine test, audiometry, x-ray on chest and etc. BMI has to be watched out so that you can go offshore. But if your blood pressure or sugar level is high, than your offshore medical extension maybe just 6 months or 1 year, depending on the doctor.
