so shipping + customs tax it's more or less just slightly cheaper than buying locally, minus the warranty

IMO, it's only worthwhile if you can buy there locally and bring it home yourself

Coz I saw a Youtuber that he has lost his switch and he can't retrieve his save data nor re-download the purchased game the store.

What do you mean by "companion app"? I only know the Parental Control app....only in certain countries like Playstore US. But you can get it from other unofficial market place. I got my Parental control app there....cant remember name of marketplace though.

Hulu is like iflix, netflix, tonton etc. It specializes in TV series.
But Hulu does not have presence in Malaysia. By that I mean you cannot register a Hulu account using a Malaysian address. Only Netflix can. But there is no Netflix app on Switch. There is only a Hulu app.

I don't know any 2nd hand cartridge. Let me know if anyone know.

Actually you still can subacribe to Hulu. I used to have Huluplus account. After a while, most of my favorite Tv series moved to Netflix,  so i dont bother anymore..

But you will need a Geolocation DNS service like Getflix or a VPN service to watch Huluplus.

I use Getflix to watch Netflix US, but you can watch Netflix malaysia without any extra VPN or DNS service.

I believe Hulu will eventually come to Malaysia as Netflix has. And Nintendo also said before that a Netflix app is coming. But in the age of smartphone nowadays, if you want to buy a Switch to watch tv etc, you don't need to buy a Switch. Switch is about gaming.

Another thing to note is that you can have Hulu account by registering a US address maybe. I have not tried. But it will expose you to currency exchange fluctuation. I believe Netflix in Malaysia is not censored and the government has given a guarantee that it will not censor Netflix. But there are certain movies and tv series that will not be available for Malaysia-based accounts because of licensing issue.
