my fav still Sony VTC5A for regulated mod & LG HB6 for mechanicals
VTC5A works great on regulated (as long the mod got chip)! can be use in mech as well but firing abit on the low.
HB6 is the real blast on each puff but downside is super low mAH which i need to use 6-10pcs standby per day lol
*
Where do you find VTC5A locally?

hi...got many unfinished flavour, just how long this local flavor expire eh? 1 year still gooding?
*
Your only worry would be the nicotine, if it's stored away from sunlight (in a dark place away from heat) you should still be able to vape it.
If those are creamy juices, I'd still try it.. Maybe the steep improved the flavors

Honestly, the longest I'd keep my own juices is 1+ year as well.

dear vaping shifus, im looking for a mod which good in size ( small ) and has a decent battery size. my budget is below RM300 for mod only. any good recommendation ?
*
If you want something small, definitely go for a single 18650 mod.

Do you use TC or only power mode?

currently using a tc mod, elfin dna75. Elfin dna75 design is really really good(in term of size and power), but unfortunately, it seems like the rubbery surface has dropped off due to the dripping of juice. a TC mod is great
*
I know this is way off your budget, but it's one of the sleekest single 18650 DNA75 you can find in the market with solid build quality.
https://store.altsmo.com/Mods/Series-B-Evol...-mod-JAC-Vapour

One that is within your budget would be:
Vapedroid C1D2, the only flaw for that device is that the rubber finish might peel off over time.
Lavabox M, a little bit bigger however very light
SMY SDNA75, small and pocket-friendly, however, I read that the QC is incredibly inconsistent

Non-DNA:
Evic Vtwo Mini with ArcticFox - one device that is proven

You could go with Yihi chips as well, unfortunately I'm not very familiar with Yihi devices so can't recommend any.

Hope this helps

You forgot the Nano. Say what you will about the battery hatch, mine hasn't given me any problems yet and it's been nearly 5 months since I first got it.

Also, I haven't exactly babied it either and it's holding up to my spills and thrills quite well so far.

Also, if you can afford the Series-B (the 22mm width of which will SERIOUSLY limit your tank choices), do look at the E-Petite as well, even if it's supposedly "just" a DNA60

Why? TBH, the DNA60 is actually better sorted than the 75 for higher ohm vaping because the 75 can't actually do 75w if the ohms are too high. Funny, right?
*
You mean the HCigar Nano? True, there are tons of single 18650 DNA 75 mods out there but I've not really looked at HCigar because I personally don't like the design on it. Too flashy.

But But I have a good time using therion on 75w .2 ohm still superb to me tho until I got epetite  rolleyes.gif. Dropped my epetite once both cover fell out battery also out put back everything and found out there is no scratches or dent Amazinggggg.
*
Actually when I first saw the Epetite I almost copped it online, but I suppressed my impulse purchase kick and waited till I got the chance to check it out in a brick and mortar.
It's quite weird to hold no? Because of the form factor, I completely agree with you tho. The EPetite is one classy mod.

Great beater mod for out and about, only fits 22mm tank.
Flash it with ArcticFox (aka poor man's DNA) if you'd like to tinker around.

currently waiting for my pico picit2 bottle cover to arrive, fell on the road, heard klung klang but could find it..mind you, it fell at the parking lot, a night..torch light also couldnt help finding it..
abandon until the bottle cap arrive..
other than that, i have 8pcs of kimech arriving soon, gb purchase, 1 boxer clone from fastek and a hussar rdta from that demmit website also...hahaha..
so, my new combo will be pico picit+odis 16, boxer+oatty and kimech+hussar rdta.
all clones accept them batteries, coils, wicks and juice..hahaha..
*
Woah 8 Kimechs?

Love my pico squeeze too, it's my all day mod + Armor.
I really hope bigger manufacturers (Smok, Eleaf, Wotofo) set their eyes on squonking and release squonk mods at reasonable prices. Our options are limited, unless money isn't a problem.

8 kimechs..  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
thats from groupbuy that i've organized previously..

Yeah, basically I want more squonk mods in the market hahah, that's all I vape now. Dripper flavor with the convenience of a tank + portable too.

Let me know how the Kimech performs!

hi guys, newbie here.
any health disadvantages of using clapton coil instead of the original kanthal coil?

Get the free clapton coil together with the WOTOFO Serpent SMM Tank.

SMM + Vaporesso Nebula is superb. But i am abit worried on the health disadvantages on it.

Thanks all sifus.
*
Hey man, from what I've read so far. Vaping pure VG/PG with nicotine does not cause any health issues, what researchers are now looking into are the flavorings used and how it might or might not have long term effects on our body.

Then again, like what a lot of people say, I believe it is safer than smoking cigarettes.

As for your question, the only disadvantage of using clapton coils is that it requires more power to fire up and hence shorten your battery life.
However, if you're the sort that don't wick and clean/change coils often, the coils will gunk up and turn black. Just looking at it, I don't think that's very safe to vape.

Just my two cents.

Pico Squeeze is semi regulated so there are some safety precautions built in, for example it is capped at only 50W.
Anyway, I like to squonk with a 0.50 ohm build in a small 22mm RDA.. So in terms of safety, I don't worry too much about it.

yes, the pico squeeze, semi regulated, some have tried a 0.2-0.3 build on that mod and its fires like a full mech..
your battery and the chip inside the pico is the regulating factor..
never had misfire with it and to be honest, the 1:1 kimech with 3034 mosfet, 5amp tactile and 15k resistor hits really hard on a 0.45build with vtc5..
the performance is superb, still hits hard after 1.5 days of usage..
*
No doubt the Kimech performs well, honestly though, I don't quite like the positioning of the fire button.
I'll wait for more squonkers to be available on the market and invest in one I really like.

YGPM lol.

Anyway, talking about new tanks...

user posted image

The hype is real. This thing can bungkus both the Kylin and the Ammit Dual in terms of flavour easy, even from the first vape lol. A shame the Ori one so mahalz and hard to get locally, if it was $40-50 can still go ler. Thankfully the KB clones are very much 1:1 so besides clone envy it's working pretty well.

As a bonus it complements the Nano very, very well too.

But yeah, the folks at ReLoad sure know their shiat. Kudos.

That said, not having JFC is not exactly ideal, but as long as it doesn't piss juice like the Merlin I'm good. Now watching the base like a hawk to see if it has any bladder issues.
*
How's the juice consumption on the Reload RTA anyway? Only dual coil options on it right?

anyone can share setting/setup for merlin single / dual coil ? and suggest some creamy flavor to go with it.
tq

I prefer to use a single coil in my Merlin. Dual coil just drinks juice too fast for me.

What I found works best is a spaced 26g kanthal 3mm inner diameter approx 6/7 wraps, position it close to the airflow and make sure there's enough cotton.

hi guys. I'm sure this question is being asked many many times but please bear with me as I couldn't find the right answer on the net.

I'm a regular smoker (non heavy, typically 2-3 sticks per day) and now planning to cut down further. Now I'm looking to get my first Vape. Box mod is preferred as I want the customization it offers.

I've read a few guides online. Is there any generally accepted brands that I should look into for box mods? what about coils and tanks?

I'm kinda confused with the high wattage box mod (such as 100w-200w box mod) where ppl only vape at 10-20W.

what are some starter brands or models that I should look into?

thanks a lot in advance!
*
Hey man, you've come to the right place.

100w-200w box mods are quite popular because the vape scene is catering to the cloudbroz market, so manufacturers are just following the demand.
Some people who vape between 10W-50W for example sometimes get 100w-200w box mods because of the battery life.

Me personally, I vape around 30W and I prefer portability over anything else. So a single 18650 battery mod is more than enough for my day to day.

Well, there are a lot of options out there, so let me ask you a few questions so that we can filter out and narrow your choices down to a few.

1. Do you want a direct-to-lung (DTL) or mouth-to-lung (MTL - similar to a cig pull) setup?
2. Do you want an internal battery mod or are you okay with getting separate 18650 battery and charger?
- internal battery is easier to maintain, however if the battery dies, your mod goes with it too
- mods that take 18650 would most likely still work if your battery goes to shit, but you have to take good care of your batteries
3. Portability or battery life?
4. Do you want to build your own coils or buy OCC (pre-built coils that you can use and throw without the hassle of building your own coils)

Hey, thanks for the attention given man.

1. Most vape that I tried are DTL. Does this affect the kit that i should get?
2. Separate battery is preferable as I like the idea of customization.
3. Battery life is much preferred. From what I've read, aren't single and dual battery dishes out the same battery? (Parallel VS Series, please correct me if I'm wrong).
4. I like tinkering with stuff, but would prefer to start out with something simple and convenient before advancing deeper into the territory.

Thanks again!
*
Happy to help.

1. It does, sort of. MTL kits are usually a lot more portable because it doesn't drain battery life as fast as DTL setups. So I assume you're looking for a DTL setup
2. Okay, 18650 it is
3. If you're thinking of getting an unregulated box mod then you'll have to worry about parallel vs series (I don't recommend it for a beginner).
In a regulated setup, single 18650 mod usually caps you at 75W, 80W in some cases. However if you plan to vape at say 60W, you'd be swapping out batteries 2 or 3 times a day depending on how much a chain vaper you are. In my experience, my dual 18650 200W mod at 60-80W lasts me a day at the office.
4. Noted.

Dual battery box mods:
Smoant Battlestar 200W
Smoant Charon 218W

Tank:
OCC - Hassle free and reliable:
Tobeco SuperTank Mini

Rebuildable Tank Atomizer (RTA):
Single coil:
Wotofo Serpent Mini 22mm
Wotofo SMM - Bigger brother of the Serpent Mini

Dual coil:
Can someone that is more experienced recommend dual coil tanks?
I'm a single coil low wattage vape kaki, so my knowledge in this field not very good.

Batteries:
It is extremely important you get legit 18650 batteries, look out for clones out in the market.
Some trustable brands are LG, Sony, Samsung to name a few. Please refer to Mooch's (the battery guru) battery chart for more detailed info.

Battery charger:
XTAR is quite reliable, paging @Eiraku for some recommendations

If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

+1 for merlin mini for its flexibility from air high wattage setup to tight af mtl setup. Not a fan of  its capacity and wicking wise could be a bit fiddly for new vapers.

Yeah that's the reason I didn't recommend the Merlin Mini, sometimes I get a really good vape with it, and sometimes it just leaks like an open faucet

I'm leaning towards Aegis and VO Dagger as well. More to Aegis for the bigger battery capacity allowance.
I'm bidding for Dagger as well and see if I can get it at a good price.

DNA mods? Looks like there's another long reading night for me  biggrin.gif

Really appreciate of you taking your time giving all these devices.

Time to research some tanks model now.

Man, you're heading towards a deep rabbit hole man.

There's so much to read and learn, and yeah, like Eiraku said.. Do not ride the hype train (unless you got the dough to do so).
I've been there, I've learned the hard way and my wallet suffered, and I can confidently say that a lot of kakis from this thread has been in the same situation console.gif
