Am considering either a Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus or Lenovo P2. For Lenovo P2, understand the price is >$1k+ but noticed that there are 2 online sellers with much lower price. Can anyone tell me whether its safe to buy from them? I think buying from Lazada is safe but what if they are sellers from Mudah and Shopee? Also, is there any problem buying from Shopee? The cheapest I could find is at $599 (4GB/32GB ROM) from elite mobile at Lazada https://www.lazada.com.my/products/original...db1d7mks520lc71There's a cheaper one with 64GB ROM from Mudah (from All iN Mobile) at $499 (4GB/64GB ROM) but kind of afraid to trust it as its not from Lazada https://www.mudah.my/Lenovo+P2+Ori+Malaysia...920205.htm#show

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Apr 6 2019, 11:39 AM) mudah link gone. All In Mobile is a shop nearby my city here NightFelix Yesterday it was still ok. Good to know at least you have seen the shop before. Do you know whether the shop is ok (just in case the link comes back up). QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 6 2019, 11:46 AM) After so long.. The phone still going strong.. Have demand even as newer models are out by others brands... Its really good specs and worth the price if one can get it at $500-$600+ . Plus it supposedly supports both 2.4 and 5GHz unlike some of Xiaomi phones (eg: Redmi 7 doesn't support 5GHz band). [although there have been some complaints that it cannot detect 5GHz at times and some had to do a full hard reset to solve the 5GHz issue] This post has been edited by abcn1n: Apr 6 2019, 12:09 PM

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Apr 6 2019, 12:29 PM) The shop itself is okay, they sell some niche rare mobile just like directd, but given here is a small city, they do not sell high volume. (back in few years ago) until last year Mobile2Go open a new outlet here, it outshine their existence. lol they mostly focus sell online but yet not as popular like 1gadget/directd like we use to purchase from lazada for example. Thank you very much. This information is very useful.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 6 2019, 12:54 PM) Yes. One of the well build spec phone available... Big batter is plus point...And heard not much ads like Xiaomi too... Wonder would have newer model with better spec from Lenovo.. Yes. Really like the specs and the large battery. Don't know about newer model though but they are not producing anymore P series. One thing though, Lenovo tend to have problem with Waze as compared to Xiaomi

QUOTE(yweising @ Apr 8 2019, 11:06 AM) i bought a unit from this company through Shopee last month. this is my 2nd unit of P2. everthything works fine. unlocked, rooted, flashed custom rom, gcam with night mode ... main phone during working hours and act as wifi hotspot after working. battery hardly can go below 40% b4 1am, after 4 hours of hotspot and 4 hour of SOT. P2 is running full time LTE+ during hotspot with digi i150. oh yeah..it has dual band wifi, so i'm always using its 5ghz band for hotspot sharing. yweising You bought from EliteMobile right. Thanks so much. Very useful info.

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Apr 11 2019, 11:57 PM) Have you studied the comparison between LeMoto P2 and Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom...? I have both phones and there are pros and cons between the two... But if we need both energy and camera with OIS in a single device, then, Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom is the clear winner... LeMoto P2 vs. Asus Zenfone 3 ZoomNo I haven't. azhar75 There's something that is on my mind however. Lenovo P2 release date was Sept 2016 (2.5 years ago). Was wondering how good the battery's condition will be. Reading up, general opinion is that handphone battery last around 2-3 years on average (with use). So, even if I were to get a brand new Lenovo P2, the battery may not 'last so long'? What are your thoughts? This post has been edited by abcn1n: Apr 12 2019, 12:25 AM

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Apr 12 2019, 12:46 AM) I bought my unit on 8th December 2016.... Flashback unboxing memory...LOL...Now, it's been 2 years 4 months old... The energy supply clearly depreciates from 5100 mAh to "around" 4,000 mAh now... This is because everytime after fully charge the P2, it'll drop from 100% to 90% for 1 hour YouTube... On the 1st year, the same 1 hour YouTube just consumed 5% energy... So, for a brand new unit, as of today, the battery cell is almost dry edy. So, it may not be 5,100 mAh anymore after 2.5 years untouched from factory... I dunno the exact energy value but looking at my usage, I estimate the sealed box unit should have around 4,750 mAh energy supply...but so long as 1 year warranty applies, no need to worry about old stock performance. Thanks a lot. Very useful info.

Saw this in Lazada. Damn good price for the specs. If I was IT savvy, would just buy this and do the necessary adjustments to make it 'Malaysia friendly' Lenovo Z6 lite https://www.lazada.com.my/products/global-r...3w4NKd&search=1

QUOTE(4lt4ir @ Jul 7 2019, 02:37 PM) What makes it non-Malaysia friendly as is? 4lt4ir I believe this is China version as this phone is not 'brought' into Malaysia so far. I've heard before for phones that are from China, certain procedures need to be done before we are able to get certain stuff like whatsapp, playstore etc. Not too sure how easy/difficult it is. For lack of a better word, I used the word 'Malaysia friendly' as we need all this type of stuff If you happen to buy the phone (not sure about the sellerr's credibility ), let us know how good it is This post has been edited by abcn1n: Jul 7 2019, 05:27 PM
