Hopefully the built-in 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage is enuff.... As for my case, 32GB is more than enuff for the next 2 years...

First question is where to find more themes? Only noticed a handful on the theme engine.

In terms of first impression the AMOLED screen does look to have better contrast and overall feels narrower but taller than the RN4. It does feel slightly more premium built. Will monitor the battery life for a few days to see how it performs.

I also didn't notice any led notification light, and one thing I miss is the IR blaster which came in handy for my home airconds and tv.

in terms of dollar to dollar u already earn.. lol 800+ trade with 1k+

Actually we both got what we wanted, as the mobile shop ask him to topup rm300 for new Redmi Note 4 64gb 4gb Malaysia set. So he saves rm300 and I get to try a different phone smile.gif

I think Lenovo price is a bit too high after coming out for so long, but you are right it should be slightly more than the RN4 top model.

redmi note4 battery nowhere compared to P2. Dont think any aspect wins p2.. camera also so so only

Rm600+ vs rm1k+ for 32gb if RN4 wins then Lenono can throw inside toilet bowl already. Still, got some aspects it wins :-

1. IR blaster
2. Notification led (I can't see any on the P2)
3. Miui customisation - for people who likes to have more features, matter of preference
4. Overall smaller form factor for same screen size.
5. Easy to find accessories. I think Lenovo phones closed down already even Lowyat Plaza most shops don't sell Lenovo.

Main advantage is value.. basically 1 P2 can buy 2 cheaper RN4. Battery is good enough for most people, 7-11 hours Sot over 30 hours usage.

Battery, I haven't use P2 long enough yet to comment, as my first time use with factory reset use a lot of resources.. I didn't get more than 24 hrs usage. Will try again tomorrow when it'sl fully optimised.[QUOTE]

DannyOP, what color? Grey? and what telco you use for the P2....
*
Yeah it's the grey version, front is black and body is grey. Any difference with the colours?

I'm using Digi. Normally 1st time after installing all the apps the battery will drain faster for most phones so I'm not too worried.

I went to almost 10 shops in Lowyat Plaza today, all said no casings .. looks like need to order online. What's the favourite case u guys been using?

Just wondering whether your unit has the sunken/depressed screen at the sides of fingerprint scanner... I believe bth gold and grey should have it out of the box...

Better get tempered glass ASAP as the glass is "fragile"... casing and TG can get from lelong if you need it urgently....

I have 4 extra casings for sale... PM if interested...
*
I didn't notice so far, oh good will msg u for the cases! Thanks for the heads up on tempered glass, don't really like the hall effect but guess safety is more important.

Looks like a brick ... I'm quite happy with P2 and RN4 form factor..

Btw anyone managed to use Google Camera app? I could use it with RN4 with custom room only. P2 tried but not compatible with stock room.

Oh looks like they didn't get it to work, it's a shame, because I used it on RN4 and the EIS is also very smooth. Have a look at my video taken, sorry for my untidy room :-

So, you're the type of person who doesn't change phone very often....good for you...

I strongly suggest to get the Xiaomi Mi A1 as it has more storage and same 14nm SoC. With this SoC, the phone should be able to secure the battery for 3 years because it does not overheat even under heavy usage. The main reason to get the A1 is 2 years OS support from Google/Xiaomi. Even if say the 3K mAh battery dies before reaching 2 years, we can always opt for powerbank as the ultimate solution. Screen is subjective as Super AMOLED is prone to "burn-in" but no P2 owners worldwide has reported this for the past 12 months.

P2 screen is claimed to have Corning Gorilla Glass 3. But the weak point is located at the fingerprint scanner region where the screen is depressed/sunken due to excessive screws holding at the back of the panel/glass. So, sudden impact within this region is anticipated to shatter the whole glass altogether. Applying cheap tempered glass is the viable workaround (no need 2 layers anymore) but there is still another issue of bubbles around the depressed/sunken area. We can solve this by applying "white filler" below:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Getting a rugged shock-proof case is also encouraged to secure the beautiful 700-nits Super AMOLED screen.

Overall, if I were you, I'll go for the Mi A1 for safer long term considerations...else, can just get the second hand P2 for alternative as the brand new P2 is still reaching RM1K at the moment...

Xiaomi Mi A1 was one of my choices before I got the Redmi Note 4x then P2. Before that was using S7E and Note 5.

One of the reason I didn't get Mi A1 is the screen quality, after looking at some demos, it looks washed out compared to Note 4x and P2. Second is I don't like carrying powerbank around, with my phone, wallet, keys, my pockets always crammed with things. The Mi A1 still questionable whether it can last me the whole day, as Redmi 4x sometimes go down to 6 hours SOT with heavy usage already. With Mi A1 for my usage maybe only 4-5 hours SOT, which means it won't last a day. So far only Redmi Note 4 and P2 are full day phones that I managed to try.

How's the external speaker of P2 compared to Redmi Note 4/4X? Way richer and louder...?

As far as I can "hear", my P2 speaker is the loudest and richer compared to my Note5. Can say slightly lower than HTC BoomSound effect... only Mono channel though... Still, just set it at 50% level so far...
*
P2 external sounds better than RN4. Seems like both sides have sound compared to only bottom for the RN4.

Note 5 speaker is loud and rich too mm can't really say which one is better but I think the sound projection is better on the P2 but Note 5 sounds louder to me. Both still lose to Zte Axon 7 which I used for a few months before.

thanks

Mi A1 + powerbank = thicker and inconvenient compared to P2 without need for powerbank. Since u got a change to buy new phone why not consider those newer ones with bigger battery?

Be careful also with 2nd hand phones. I bought 2 units of S7 Edge, one can get 5-6 hrs Sot which almost last a day usage. The other one barely hit 4 hrs and need to recharge halfway through the day.

Huawei 4,000mAh capacity is Grade B battery... High in capacity but poor quality...Just like what they have done to the eMMc vs. UFS 2.0 & UFS 2.1 storage...

[attachmentid=9315950]

LG is well known for Grade A battery quality since LG G2... Just like our P2 too... iPhone X is also surprising with 2,617mAh capacity...

Surprised that Mate 10 didn't fare well. They should use better batteries for the price.

I wonder what lenoto engineers are doing. they have a proven best endurance product yet no news on the succesor. P3 with updated 630 chip and dual camera would be a great overall phone. perhaps lenovo itself not confidence in their own branding anymore, they spent more on getting moto phones out.
*
I think they close down already, no more Lenovo phones available even in Low Yat Plaza. All the display stalls also change to Oppo or Vivo.

Just switched to Mi A1 from P2 to try other phones. First day use can tell that P2 definately has much better battery life. I got 6hr+ SOT for Mi A1 whereas for P2 I get between 9-11hrs SOT.

Build quality I must say both are equally well built, with ease of holding going to A1 due to much slimmer profile. Also screen protector and casings much more in the market for A1.

Screen goes to P2, amoled with infinite contrast ratio is hard to beat. Mi A1 has a decent lcd panel.

Camera I must say A1 has better portrait shots and overall sharper image compared to P2 when enough lighting. Low light both struggles.

Overall both selling about the same price now ie. Rm900+. Sometimes A1 with online couple can be bought for rm800+. At Rm100+ price difference it's a matter of your importance for battery life for P2 vs camera performance on M1 A1.

Ok after few days of swapping to Xiaomi Mi A1 from P2 the battery difference is quite a big gap.. On average I get only 4hr+ - 6hr+ SOT with GPS and online football and normal social media for work. However on P2 no matter what I throw at it also minimum 9hr+ to 11hr+ SOT. Those who want great battery life should still pick the P2 over the A1 since prices of both are quite similar now.

Clearly P2 is way better than Mi A1...

Looks like it performs better for low light. For me both P2 and A1 still average at best. How about portrait mode and selfie?
