My P2's touch screen died, so sent in for extended warranty claim for repair. Now they tell me, it's EOL stage for the model so they will try to source a like for like replacement or a similarly specified phone. What other smartphone is similar in battery life to p2? I've looked but nothing comes close only the 6 inch plus phablets but I don't really want something that large. Searched on gsmarena and most of the phones in the same price range are redmi 5s.

Using a redmi 5A now as a temporary phone. The processor is too slow for me.

Hold up...! End-of-Life...? This is really surprising for extended warranty policy....meaning their factory is no more keeping the spare parts anymore...

AFAIK, Extended Warranty is not officially available in Lenovo Mobile Malaysia... are you talking about local Reseller's Extended Warranty?

They should AT LEAST offer Moto G5s Plus (for LeMoto Malaysia Service Center) or Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 or Redmi 5 Plus (for local reseller)...

Redmi Note 5i (Malaysia set) is not the same "current" depreciated value of P2... current "estimated" market value of P2 is less than RM600... so any models below RM600 is suitable for P2a42's replacement...

Anyway, hope you'll get the replacement ASAP without any disappointment...

Once RN5i is in your radar, no other model can kill RN5i for the same price bracket...

You can test drive RN5i at Xiaomi's kiosks before committing...

but rn5i better in term of processor n camera, meanwhile i love the amoled screen (super deep black) and the massive battery on p2. software rn5i now in oreo but p2 stuck on nougat. hati berbolak-balik, buntu nak pilih.

RN5i battery can last from 8am to 11pm for full data usage without Wi-Fi... gaming can go more than 5 hours str8...

Not worth the cash to get P2 anymore... it is End-of-Life (EOL) product unless can get less than RM800 for brand new 64GB variant....

The only reason to get P2 is the cashless NFC mobile payment,
VR experience and using P2 as Mi-Fi and standby powerbank ... other than that, RN5i is still the best option as of today...

Zenfone M1 is a "luv or hate" situation... yes it "may" last more than 2 years if luck is on our side... most phones will have internal damage like mobo, digitizer, ports and screen issue after 2 years if luck is not on our side...

Instead of Zenfone M1, we better opt for RN5i if the price is less than RM100 difference...

Perhaps you wait for P2 replacement and while waiting (shouldn't be more than 1 week...) you can scout around for demo units to test drive...

Love the similar 5300mAh battery and nearly 6 inch screen. Waiting for the 6gb ram version.
It's also a stock Android OS.
