QUOTE(azhar75 @ Nov 3 2017, 10:46 PM) You better invest on tempered glass and rugged casing... can get from Lelong/Lazada/Shopee/11street/AliExpress/Taobao.... Boss, I'm interested in this unit as well, I'm on Note 3 (already 4 years, haven't change my battery, also 4 years). How you apply the Tempered glass? Still 2 layer of screen protector (1 plastic + 1 tempered) just to fix the screen bubble besides the home button area? I also torn between Xiaomi A1, the reason to hold back is because of amoled and battery. P/s: I also saw that the P2 screen cracked easily from small height drop, even with screen protector on This post has been edited by myself379: Nov 4 2017, 06:09 AM |

So, you're the type of person who doesn't change phone very often....good for you...How you apply the Tempered glass? Still 2 layer of screen protector (1 plastic + 1 tempered) just to fix the screen bubble besides the home button area? I also torn between Xiaomi A1, the reason to hold back is because of amoled and battery. P/s: I also saw that the P2 screen cracked easily from small height drop, even with screen protector on I strongly suggest to get the Xiaomi Mi A1 as it has more storage and same 14nm SoC. With this SoC, the phone should be able to secure the battery for 3 years because it does not overheat even under heavy usage. The main reason to get the A1 is 2 years OS support from Google/Xiaomi. Even if say the 3K mAh battery dies before reaching 2 years, we can always opt for powerbank as the ultimate solution. Screen is subjective as Super AMOLED is prone to "burn-in" but no P2 owners worldwide has reported this for the past 12 months. P2 screen is claimed to have Corning Gorilla Glass 3. But the weak point is located at the fingerprint scanner region where the screen is depressed/sunken due to excessive screws holding at the back of the panel/glass. So, sudden impact within this region is anticipated to shatter the whole glass altogether. Applying cheap tempered glass is the viable workaround (no need 2 layers anymore) but there is still another issue of bubbles around the depressed/sunken area. We can solve this by applying "white filler" below: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Getting a rugged shock-proof case is also encouraged to secure the beautiful 700-nits Super AMOLED screen. Overall, if I were you, I'll go for the Mi A1 for safer long term considerations...else, can just get the second hand P2 for alternative as the brand new P2 is still reaching RM1K at the moment... |

Just want to add:If a person use p2 naked aka without any case, it will be less 'sharp feeling at the conner edge of the tempered glass' for the user. If using case, no difference This post has been edited by miloy2k: Nov 5 2017, 01:38 AM |

Before that was using S7E and Note 5. I strongly suggest to get the Xiaomi Mi A1 as it has more storage and same 14nm SoC. One of the reason I didn't get Mi A1 is the screen quality, after looking at some demos, it looks washed out compared to Note 4x and P2. Second is I don't like carrying powerbank around, with my phone, wallet, keys, my pockets always crammed with things. The Mi A1 still questionable whether it can last me the whole day, as Redmi 4x sometimes go down to 6 hours SOT with heavy usage already. With Mi A1 for my usage maybe only 4-5 hours SOT, which means it won't last a day. So far only Redmi Note 4 and P2 are full day phones that I managed to try. |

How's the external speaker of P2 compared to Redmi Note 4/4X? Way richer and louder...?
As far as I can "hear", my P2 speaker is the loudest and richer compared to my Note5. Can say slightly lower than HTC BoomSound effect... only Mono channel though... Still, just set it at 50% level so far... |

Digi so weird, if 4G+ drop to 3G+ the 3g+ will be like not active at all. However if you stick to 3G WCDMA only there is no issues.
Scenario is when teethering and a phone call comes it.. the teethering like totally dies off |

QUOTE(chittyserv @ Nov 5 2017, 11:56 AM) Digi so weird, if 4G+ drop to 3G+ the 3g+ will be like not active at all. However if you stick to 3G WCDMA only there is no issues. AFAIK, when tethering via HSDPA, any incoming call will stop the data connection and give priority to the call. Scenario is when teethering and a phone call comes it.. the teethering like totally dies off ONLY when connected to LTE-A (aka 4G+), any incoming call won't disturb data connection as the LTE is "dropped" to 3G and allows calling to go thru as well... Maybe I'm totally wrong in this instance....(?) or confused with VoLTE...(?)...P2 does not suport DiGi's VoLTE unfortunately..... This post has been edited by azhar75: Nov 5 2017, 04:02 PM |
