I reported in my previous post before, that 5% Online Cashback for CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum MasterCard is given for Caring Pharmacy Estore, http://estore.caring2u.com.

The differences are:

- The online payment gateway has been charged from Public Bank to iPay88.
- Stated as IPAY88*CARINGPHARMACY SELANGOR MY. Previously, it was CARING PHARMACY ESTORE KUALA LUMPUR MY.
- POSMODE 812. I am unsure why CIMB CS officer gave me 3 digits for POSMODE, instead of 2 digits.
- MCC is 5311 (Departmental Store), as given by CIMB Customer Service Officer.

How can an online payment gateway be classfied as a departmental store?


Luckily, at the end of last month after my statement date, I still got my 5% Online Cashback for CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum MasterCard for this transaction.

Hi guys, just wanna confirm something
I’m planning to buy something for 239 usd (based on google currency conversion it should be rm1023.16) from geekbuying.com using my visa platinum
But how much should I really expect the final credited amount after I made the purchase? An extra rm50 or 100
Anyway I could estimate the actual amount? What's cimb normal bank fee rate?

CIMB charges 1% for admin fee on top of forex rate governed by Visa International.

as long it is ipay88 which is online, you will get 5% cash rebate doesn't matter if it is under any MCC

Usually it's the same for the admin fee by the bank.
Only AMEX is slightly higher.

Looks like 2% bank service charged
And I'm definitely not using paypal anymore since they're charging extra for foreign transaction

best way is to get the branch credit card agent to help with the process. hopefully someone you trust whom you feel that will help later on.

edit : if you apply from the mall fellas. better get the gift on the spot. or else usually these fellas wont be around later already.

Guys, my cc limit is just 5k. Can i topup cash into this card up until -6k so that total around rm11k. Coz i want buy flight ticket for around rm11k. Is it possible?

Yes, possible provided you still have RM 5k balance, else you gotta top up until RM 11k.

Side note: Flight tickets will not grant you any cash back using CIMB CR, just saying if you have intention to get cash back and using CIMB CR.
