I just called CIMB CS to cancel the card, they offered me RM50 cashback if spend RM200 but I proceed to cancel it anyway. lol

If I have extra balance in my credit card and I cancel it, can I request it to be refunded to my CIMB bank account? Or I need to spend it?

Better way is to spend it.
If refund to your Cimb saving account, I think got charges. Try to read your T&C based on your CC.

I just called to disable my CIMB CB card. Was offered 15(instant)+15(Upon using 200). i accepted it and plan to use on 11/11 sales.

spend 200 get 30. woot 15% cash rebate regardless the spend.

I still have cash back leh... It's OK la, can cancel later.

I am quite surprised too. Just now called to cancel and I was told I got the rebate for all 3 cards. 1 principal + 2 supplementary. I will get 15 + 15 + 15 up front and another 15 + 15 + 15 if I managed to swipe 200 + 200 + 200.

Not a bad deal. Gonna use it and cancel it after that 

for me Maybank visa signature you get 5% cashback on petrol  and groceries. monthly Cap rm85.
Second maybank card2card but only on weekend.

hopefully CIMB would reinstate the benefits < 1.5 years once realised the market share has dropped significantly
