That Redmi Note 4 sold at RM788 is imported from India. You wouldn't want to get that since it only support LTE Band 3,5 and 40.

You could consider buy Redmi Note 4X which is basically the same phone as Redmi Note 4 sold here just with different warranty provider and different network band(both work perfectly in Malaysia).

Yes that will be referred as AP set. If you really want to buy AP set, look for SatuGadget. I've bought AP set from them and their warranty service is no where poorer than common original set.

This phone doesn't even support interband CA and you're expecting 4G+ in Malaysia Unless you're on Celcom and Maxis. Even you are they have very limited area covered with intraband CA.

Because Redmi Note 4 cheaped out in paying licenses for patent and decided to only support intraband CA and not both intraband CA and interband CA. Malaysia are using interband CA in all 4G+ covered area.

Yes it is completely fine. Redmi Note 4X and locally sold Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon variant are both indeed code name: mido which is the exact same phone with different radio band.

I vote for Redmi Note 4 as it has better value overall. The only thing that Huawei P9 Lite wins over Redmi Note 4 is the build quality and camera performance. Redmi Note 4 pretty much is better than P9 Lite is all other way.

Redmi Note 4 Malaysia official set only comes with either 3+32GB or 4+64GB. Others are parallel imported phone which also known as AP set.

You trolling or what? Who told you higher megapixel count equal to better quality? You could ask uncle Google about the comparison between photo quality between these two phone. Redmi Note 4/4X is superior than Redmi Note 3.

That model only support intraband CA and not both intraband and interband CA. Malaysia is exclusively using interband CA so you won't be getting 4G+ in Malaysia. So this phone by right should not be advertised as a 4G+ phone.

Webe had plans to launch intraband CA but nothing more than that. They still haven't decide to do it or not.

If you are Helio X20 variant, just buy Redmi Note 4 accessories will do
Snapdragon Variant, go get Redmi Note 4X. Redmi Note 4 with Snapdragon processor had exactly same dimension as Redmi Note 4X

At least for the FDD-LTE it's impossible as none of the telcos had incontiguous spectrum and none had more than 20MHz. Yes and Webe had more than 20MHz over the TDD-LTE frequency bands but their network is not congested enough that they need to deploy it. It's only matter of time for Yes/Webe to deploy intraband CA

Only Xiaomi Mi series phone comes with both intraband and interband CA but Redmi series only intraband CA. I don't think there's any similar budget phone at this price. As far as I'm aware Xiaomi seems to be the only phone vendor that produce "4G+" phone with only intraband CA. Other phone manufacturer that sells phone with 4G+ support both intraband and interband CA.

My apologies for not making my explanation clearer. Mi 5 is a special case where the base model support only intraband for the 32GB storage model but both intraband and interband for other storage option.

If you are already in LTE-A covered area, rest assure you are connected to LTE-A of Digi if you have Mi 5S. The reason it doesn't show 4G+ is because Digi only had aggregated 10(band 7)+10(band 3)=20MHz via LTE-A. All LTE frequency band are capable to deploy 20MHz just on single band and hence this is why you might be connected to LTE-A but not showing up as a 4G+ network. If you are using on a Celcom or Maxis, it will for sure show up 4G+ as both of them had 10+20=30MHz of aggregation.

I don't think there's anything to do with royalty fees. More like Xiaomi are trying to make a clearer differentiation between Redmi and Mi series phones.

Raw Performance 650 beat 625 hands down but in terms of Power Efficiency, 625 is way better with 16nm FinFet vs 650 on 28nm.
