My wife's RN4 (Malaysia set) has inconsistent GPS performance. If Waze through connecting to hotspot/wifi, there's no problem with GPS setting. However, it's unable to set location if it's using data on its own. Anybody has similar experience?

Can try these 2 coz i've bought before. Full TG with colored bezel will solve the issue with curved edge (coz you won't notice the colored bezel is slightly not attached to the screen) and offer sufficient protection for the screen. Of course, don't forget to choose "Redmi Note 4x" if it's for Malaysia set.

Welcome. Yea with Aliexpress, sometimes fast sometimes slow depending on local customs....

They will ship with a small styrofoam box (won't fit into mailbox), so better choose your delivery address wisely or else Pos Malaysia will leave a note and ask you to collect at the nearest office.

Expect 3-6 months lead time...and India will get it first before the MY market

Imported grey units will appear in the market sooner than the official release (usually Snapdragon version).

Watching in anticipation to upgrade my close to 2 years old RN2 hoho

I have RN4 MY set with GPS issue (unable to lock in Waze) despite having upgraded to the latest MIUI official ROM. Also using Digi's 4G simcard here. Do let us know how it goes after changing simcard.

If your unit got EIN label and the above descriptions, then confirmed it's Malaysia set. When it comes to accessories like tempered glass and case sourced from China, you will need to look for RN4X to be compatible.

When i bought accessories for RN4 Malaysia set on Aliexpress, I had chosen RN4X type and all were good.

Your unit with EIN label is indeed RN4 and hence no need to worry or return!

Just that the RN4 version meant for global market is known as RN4X in China and that's why we need to look for the RN4X variant for accessories like tempered glass and case to fit, because the camera holes and sensors are placed differently.

When Ninjaz said yours is RN4X, i think they meant "I need to look for RN4X accessories from China" to fit your phone.
