Xiaomi phone and ROMS do not have a split screen. It will come with newer ROM MIUI9 maybe.

The ONLY good reason would be better battery life and getting new ROM from Xiaomi (and maybe better design)

The import ones from INDIA (called Redmi Note 4 in India) dont support Malaysia LTE. Missing Band 40

3rd party theme you will need to root and use xposed. its working for me (with xposed)

if you use redmi note 4 snapdragon and using latest nougat miui rom then no xposed and no 3rd party theme.

Just switched from MTK RN4 to SNAPDRAGON RN4

Battery life is so much better and the best thing is gaming doesnt lag lol

the problem is just recently xiaomi bodo got release a new Redmi Note 4 MTK and Name it Redmi Note 4X too but the body is same as Redmi Note 4X/Snapdragon

Very true. For the price, there is NO/ZERO comparison. You don't get a 5.5 inch phone with good gaming/thermal/everyday performance at rm700 (3/32GB) + RM850 (4/64GB). The only comparison would be other Xiaomi phones with sd625.

The best part is this phone also has VERY GOOD 3rd party ROM support. It's like a poor man's one plus 3 (even the op3 camera sucks a bit too).

So happy with my purchase.

Yes. Its supoosed to be better on MIUI. Just imagine the potential lol. 1st day i got phone i straight away unlock BL root and install custom rom so that I dont miss MIUI lol. I like MIUI but its terrible at handling notification.

1st of all, performance will be on par with mi3 maybe a bit worse but you get better battery life. I would personally suggest you to wait maybe like 1 - 2 more month to get a new xiaomi phone that could (COULD) use a better cpu SD660. When that time comes the cpu (SD660) will be very good and will have awesome battery like Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon.

If you feel like you need the phone now then buy it, but you will have to deal with

- mediocre camera in lowlight

- same/a bit worse performance than mi3 but GAMING is definitely better on Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon than MI3

but you get

- very good custom rom support

- very good battery life - 10-12 Hours screen on time after 1-2 days (mixed wifi and 4G/3G)

- very good thermal performance (phone does not get very warm when gaming)

- Cheap phone for the performance/battery

I just need to remind you that this is NOT A FLAGSHIP phone. The mi3 was a FLAGSHIP phone.

Don't get the Redmi Note 4 MTK because

- Horrible battery life - 5-7 hours Screen On Time after using phone for 15-20 hours

- BAD THERMAL PEROFRMANCE - Games lag after 5-10 minutes

Get the MTK for

- a bit better performance (WHEN NOT PLAYING GAMES)

- better build quality and material

Camera quality is about the same on both phone

CUSTOM ROM support is BETTER on Snapdragon 10/10

CUSTOM ROM support is the worst on MTK 2/10

Battery life on Snapdragon is two time better than MTK

1. Kernel source was released 3 weeks ago
2. Im using latest AoSP extended which is super stable (it got updated with latest kernel sources)
3. I think this rom is the most stable

None so far. Maybe some lockscreen lag. Fix this by installing kernel audiotor and change cpu governer to ondemand. And maybe headphones amd speaker volume a bit low. I have a fix for low speaker headphones

You decide performance + save money or battery life

Mi5 dun talk lah. Stupid battery life but again very fast.

To put into context

Mi5s 4 to 5 hour screen on time - best performance CPU - some heating issue - rm1xxx

Redmi note 3 6-8 screen on time - mid range cpu - get very warm when playing intense games - rm6xx for 3/32 (max spec btw)

Redmi note 4 8-12 screen on time - lower mid range - barely warm when playing intense games - rm8xx for 4/64

You decide

I would rather wait for Redmi Note 5 tbh because it will have redmi note 4 battery life and redmi note 3 (even better) performance
