Recently upgraded to 9.6.2 ROM. It has serious battery drain issue even after I tried factory reset and battery calibration. I recommend everyone to skip this rom.

Anyone knows how to downgrade rom version without unlocking bootloader?

i dont have battery drain problem using this version.
i have fb, messenger, twitter, insta, whatsapp, wechat, joox apps install and some games.
battery consumption half wifi at work and half using data at home. today got 4+ hours SOT on wifi with 50 battery left.

Try redownload back and run the update. Redownload using the system update. Tap the 3 dot and choose download update. Or just go download manually and update by placing the download rom in the downloaded_rom folder and then in system update app use choose update package

Tried that and unfortunately it didn't work. Luckily it's not something major. I can live with it.

Lesson learned, never buy MTK devices if you want to enjoy updates.

Cheap, yes but apparently MTK charges a bomb if vendors want to to "buy rights" for updates.

Then again I did enjoy using this cheap mtk one, so far only did full format once but the performance still like new since 2016 except degrading battery life which is like every other phones anyway. biggrin.gif
It's a phone I keep using the longest now, as usually I change new every year as the phone failed. My Moto suddenly dead on me (1 year+ usage), before that my xperia within a year become annoyingly lag so much no matter how many times i reformatted. rclxub.gif

So as a midrange user, RN4 mtk for me alone is a damn good buy despite its lesser updates. whistling.gif

Hi, I'm using MTK Note 4x also.

I notice my battery life has been horrible for the past 2 weeks.

Used AccuBatt to check the battery and it seems it only had 500mAh.

Now trying to calibrate and see if it's just software problem or it's time to change the battery.

Hi, I have been there. The battery % became so erratic like every minute drop 1-2% until 0% shutdown itself then after restart got like 20% again.

I did fully deplete the battery until cant reboot anymore then full charge without on, made few cycles of that only start better each time. While at it I flashed global rom, then problem solved without replacing the battery itself. But yeah it wont last full day like new set anymore.
