First up, how wide is your definition of wide?

Wide angle lenses, usually, are able to focus.

coz like sometimes when i do close up to ppl's face, it's really close and no place to see background at all.
i was thinking of getting a type of lense can be close up to face yet still can see background. i dunno how to show oso ehehe

but if u use wide on a person's face close up, the distortion will look pretty funny. try it!

The only wider lens i know of is the EF-S 10-22 Ultra Wide Angle. It is not often used for portraiture the wide angle perspective is difficult to control.

The telephoto zoom on the other hand is a typical consumer level zoom. Nothing good or bad about it.

just wondering.... did u zoom to max when u take that pic?? or did u put the cam too close to the subject?? because i had been wonder how can a face cover full image...

did try to move away further from subject?

hehe... im just thinking about cheaper alternative compare to buying new wide lens just for portrait purpose...

ppl usually use wide lens to capture panorama right??

on on the other side.... full portrait sometime can be nice also... in some situation i think....

Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L USM Ultra Wide Angle AutoFocus Lens

Beware though, wide angles are NOT for potraits, u'll distort the person beyong recognition. Its for a whole new perspective in photography. It'll make u go REALLY close. =)

Dun ask questions about what number bigger or smaller, BUY FIRST then we'll teach you. Kill you? You're about to spend Rm875 on a lens and I am just recommending a better one for you wor ... Rm6200 is MONEY and Rm875 is not, you're very rich man, it's half month of salary for some people tongue.gif
