QUOTE(Ryonegma @ Apr 25 2017, 08:18 AM) I need recommendation for a good router with sim card slot that has telephone function. I'm currently using Huawei E5776S for my Infinite 150. ZTE MF286 got built in battery, but the fact is it is very hard to get it...Something like Huawei B310, and I want it to be able to fully support/utilize Digi 4G+/LTE-A network. A plus if it has a battery for backup power. My budget is around RM400-RM900. Thanks |

Kuala Lumpur got 4G+ coverageSince I do not have any 4G+ devices at present, I wanted to check how would the normal 4G LTE performance fare in my house. Here is the speedtest result from my MX4. ![]() Is this speed reasonable for a normal LTE device? Is it OK for me to subscribe to Infinite 150 with this setup? |

Anyone out there using the same configuration as mine: Using a LTE-A phone, USB tethering to mini PC, ICS to Gigabit LAN and connect to wifi router.
I found out something fishy on the Windows 10 in the mini PC. Before USB tethering, i can get speedtest on the Redmi Note 3 Pro with 50-60Mbps. But after USB tethering, i only got 35Mbps shown in the mini PC, same as through the wifi router by connecting to the wifi with another phone. Therefore i tried with wifi hotspot with 2.4GHz (the phone is putting very near to the mini PC) and end up the same speed as USB tethering method. However, if i used wifi hotspot with 5GHz, i can manage to get around 40Mbps++, although i still able to get 50Mbps++ from Redmi Note 3 and another phone connect directly to the hotspot. So in the end, i end up using Wifi Hotspot method with 5GHz, although i still prefer using USB Tethering but something fishy in Windows 10 that throttle down the speed as USB 2.0 can goes up to 480Mbps while Wifi only can go Max 72Mbps. I already google but none of them solve this issue, only talking about autotuninglevel but still the same after disable it. If anyone know how to tweak in Windows 10 please kindly let us know. This will be useful if in the future the LTE speed can go beyond 150Mbps and i want to route the full speed, not with throttle speed. This post has been edited by tan_aniki: Apr 27 2017, 06:58 PM |

QUOTE(Neomax3 @ Apr 27 2017, 08:09 PM) that's why, i'm stil doubting digi got LTE or LTE-A, cos almost all the device shown in LTE-A wikipedia is at least CAT6 with DL 300Mbps but what digi website mentioned is only theoretical speed of 150Mbps, not even Cat 6Mi5 got 2 versions, one with 3GB/32GB is only Cat 6 with 2CA while the 3GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB are Cat12/13 with 3CA. All should have LTE-A, it doesn't matter with Global ROM (international set) or China ROM, the hardware is fixed, only thing is you need root apps to open up the band such as Mi5 doesn't support B5 but you still able to open up with root method |

QUOTE(raynman @ Apr 28 2017, 05:19 AM) My old LG G2 (Korean version) has an LTE-A logo printed at the back. sorry, nope: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_devic...LTE_Advanced#LG![]() I am currently using a 4G Digi Prepaid SIM card, but I only have an LTE signal, as shown below. ![]() Is it really LTE-A capable, or my home (Bandar Sungai Long) in not within Digi 4G+ coverage? I have never seen the phone showing an LTE-A signal anywhere, not even in metropolitan KL. The international version of the LG G2 does not have LTE-A capability. However, if I tether my LG G2 and use a Meizu MX4 to connect to it, this is my speedtest result on the MX4. ![]() So once again, is this any indication that my LG G2 is LTE-A capable? |

QUOTE(Chriss @ Apr 27 2017, 11:31 PM) Local mi5 YES & NO for imported units please don't confuse ppl on local set or import set as the hardware is fixed.Sorry fruitie my bad bad memory Anyway i found the post from digi community.Below is the screenshot.Hope this clear abit of confusion here over CA & CAT only thing is the Global ROM and China ROM that make the tweak. for me i always flash Global ROM to China ROM because there are too many built in apps which are non related to official Xiaomi. somemore China ROM can easily root rather than risking yourself on Global ROM which is not included in their official website. after you root, you can tweak around to get the max potential of your phone. so even local set with Global ROM, if flash to China ROM it might not work, but after open up the root access and tweak it, it will work again. the local/import gimmick is only those who work with Mi Malaysia created the hoax to urge ppl not to buy from parallel importer. there is only one type of rom in their official website: http://www.miui.com/download-313.html and if there is more than one for different hardware spec, they will shows up there as well. for example, Mi3 got TD and Mi3W version which you should taken care in order to download correctly. |

Please update them if the latest firmware can support B7 as well. QUOTE(prosibu @ Apr 27 2017, 11:06 PM) No no... Dun confuse ppl here.... As you see from the latest post, the LG G2 Korean version is using SD800: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/800One carrier max is 20mhz...if 2CA mean 2x20mhz = 300mbps BUT malaysia government only assign 10mhz of 2600mhz to each telco. And Digi use 10mhz of 1800mhz for 2CA. That is y the CA is 2x10mhz = 150mbps Remember spectrum allocation before u check the phone spec. Cat cat cat is not equivalent to CA but they are related. Also, maxis grabbed redtone 10mhz and celcom grabbed altel 10mhz of 2600mhz to have 225mbps Which is 20mhz+10mhz for their 2CA which is 225mbps Comes with 4x4MIMO n 256QAM will push to 450mbps, and 450 above if more 1800mhz been used for 4g... which is LTE Cat 4 with 2 X 10MHz CA but yet, international didn't consider this as LTE-A with the download speed of 150Mbps Only those which is at list Cat 6 with DL 300Mbps qualify as LTE-A I'm doubting digi qualify as LTE or LTE-A |

actually i'm asking how to tweak in Windows 10 to get maximum throughput on usb tethering but someone started on the xiaomi local or import set and soon drag into this lte-a stuff... actually i also don't care about digi got lte or lte-a but to provide 50-60Mbps for just RM159/month is better than paying unifi or maxis for 50Mbps package~
