QUOTE(chickenducksoup @ Apr 26 2017, 11:44 PM) may i know which band should i lock>? or i have test it myself which band is the best for my area? yes, you should try each band to test it. DiGi should be using B3 or B7 for LTE while B3+B7 for LTE-A

QUOTE(raynman @ Apr 26 2017, 11:58 PM) 8-12Mbps is disappointing for a normal LTE connection, not to mention LTE-A. very true... no choice.. the fastest wired broadband available for my place is 2Mbps Streamyx. It's already a blessing for me.

QUOTE(devilaaron @ Apr 27 2017, 12:24 AM) Have u test the different between the sim on your phone speed test and the E5186s modem speed test? Will the modem bring more signal and speedy than your phone ? I am trying to get this similar modem but my area didnt have LTE-A coverage but nearby, i was thinking that will the antenna from modem will able to receive the LTE-A signal. either B310 or E5186s for me as many has mentioned a modem will usually have better reception than a phone. how far are you from LTE-A coverage in DiGi's coverage map, select the outdoor version. i'd suggest you to try this: use your phone, go outside your house and test the signal and speed. if you can get good speed compare to indoor, you can place a modem near a window or at a balcony. Yagi or directional antenna does help if you know the direction of a good cell tower nearby.

QUOTE(Neomax3 @ Apr 27 2017, 01:45 PM) Thanks for sharing.. few pages back I was asking any reputable Taobao seller that we can trust to buy this expensive E5186 but no one answered.. If I might ask how was the experience buying from this seller? And do you buy the antennas locally? I believe a few have shared before if you search back. Anyway, the seller I bought from at least have it delivered to me. Nothing special with this seller, I reminded them to ship my item after 2 days no tracking update. After that, just wait for the international shipping. The unit I bought comes with free 2 x omni directional antennas as pictured. it will boost the signal strength a bit but don't expect too much. Directional/Yagi antenna is still the choice to go if you don't have coverage in your area. take note of the range and specs of the antenna as well as test it out with your phone or DiGi's coverage map.

QUOTE(devilaaron @ Apr 27 2017, 01:43 PM) My phone tested that is not very strong signal and speed. it likes 300-500m away from the tower only. I wonder the B310 will be able to achieve better signal and speed than my phone. [attachmentid=8769065] directional/yagi antenna might help in this case, double check the range and specs for the antenna before you buy. It definitely need some try and error. No one would be able to advise you accurately without doing some tests.

QUOTE(Neomax3 @ Apr 27 2017, 02:12 PM) Thanks for the clarification.. so how long does it takes to get from China to your place? and normally what kind of courier did they use? usually within 2 weeks. For this particular order, I got it in 8 days. They usually use Skynet or ABX.
