this confirms that phone manufacturer has to make options to enabled 4g+ on their phone thru patches or rom updates..
so those from ap sets and phones that use unofficial rom could be in trouble if there is no support from their respective manufactures..
*
no, i did said it is just the logo not showing
without update to nougat s6 and note 5 still connect to LTE-A
just the logo still show 4g.
manually checking at *#0011# will see CA did activate if u are downloading

now I think its whether manufacturer of these phone has enabled 4g+ on their phone or not..
for example mi max Malaysia sets does have band 5 for webe while ap sets are not available but you can unlock it yourself..
maybe its time Digi to advertise available phone that supports and which one does not so buyers later won't regret buying none-4g+ phone that thought to be one..
*
Well, it's just too many for telcos to list out.
Take OnePlus 3T for example, A3003 supports while A3010 doesn't. In general specs, OP3T does support 4G+ but not for countries like Malaysia or Singapore.

yes, because it require interband CA for 3+7 to work in malaysia.
and OP3T only support 2CA.
in the future more and more phone will support 3 CA. Therefore long as two of the band combination are 3+7, there will not be issue to conenct to LTE-A at malaysia.
if anyone is purchasing a phone only support 2CA, do check beforehand if the phone support band 3+7.

For s6 and note 5 pls update to android 7.0, will show 4g+.
Without update will still connect 4g+ just no logo. Can check via *#0011# select stack 1 and see CA active.
*
Mind to share the screenshot for this?

Wait so interband CA =/= 2CA? confused.gif Im getting more confused with the additional term intraband CA. How to check what band combination the phone supports? Most of the site -gsmarena,devicespec only state they support 2CA

OP3T works but only for A3003 variant. I had a long argument with OnePlus team regarding this.

It goes back to the type of CA. If it's B3+B3, no luck here. If it's B3+B7 then can get 4G+ here, all our telcos are using it. smile.gif
I'm from a MNC telco vendor by the way. laugh.gif

Found the answer already:

Anything from Cat 4 upwards supports the faster LTE Advanced networks (also known as LTE-A, 4G , 4GX, 4.5G or 4G LTE ULTRA) which are now becoming standard around the world

You need to ensure it has Carriers Aggregation which I don't think it has.

Refer to this for LTE-A devices but again always check the variants to be compatible with our networks before purchasing. smile.gif
