How is your speed with E5186? =)
Guys, according to digi website there is no indoor LTE-A coverage at my house but outdoor LTE-A coverage is full. Should i invest in LTE-A modem and yagi/mimo antenna? or just stick with normal LTE modem?

Thanks

cause an lte-a mifi or modem easily one have to fork out about RM500 (local distro) and above suggest that you test it first at you location first as suggested by our fellow forumers here..

buy a digi prepaid and test it using lte/lte-a phone and compare the speed of indoor and outdoor.. if you satisfy with the speed only then you can decide whether to invest on those mifi or routers or not..

Apparently my SIM will only reach tomorrow. GDex didn't pick up courier from my sister's company on Monday. Regardless I will set up later and try with my Celcom first. icon_idea.gif

Which LG V10? If it's H961N, it supports LTE-A. I was using it. If it's H962, then it's not supported in Malaysia.

I was using LG V10 H961N and confirmed it has 4G+. I was enjoying 100Mbps Celcom on it. laugh.gif
If it's H962, which is a TW set has no luck to get 4G+ here.

Btw, whats the expected max speed for 4g vs 4g+ ?
Sometimes 3g hspa++ also faster than 4g , in some area, so its very confusing on this..
And some 4g modem support upto 100mbps dl n 50mbps ul.... but it is not 4g+ modem... so meaning i can still get upto 100mbps speed using normal 4g modem right???

Some explanation on LTE technology and modem tips.

LTE-A = Cat 6 and above.
Huawei E398 is Cat 3 (100Mbps)
Huawei E3276 is Cat 4 (150Mbps)
Huawei E5186 is Cat 6 (300Mbps) with dual carrier aggregation

Dual carrier aggregation is the combination of 2 cells in order to deliver higher performance. In layman terms, load balancing. If you are buying a new LTE modem, I suggest getting a CAT6 capable modem. But please make sure you can receive both 1800Mhz and 2600Mhz band first. smile.gif

The performance still depends on signal strength and user density of the particular cell you are connected to.

You should be able to get better performance with a Cat 6 capable LTE modem if you already able to get 20Mbps on the E398.

Use MDMA to lock your E398 on 1800Mhz and 2600Mhz and see if you can receive both frequency.

Our 4G has no capability to run until 100Mbps. Usually 4G+ can.
