Unfortunately, I will only see my friend when I'm back in Malaysia. Never mind la, I can live with 4G on my phone. If I'm lucky enough, my phone's 4G+ may work there.

Small matter. Been travelling around most of the time, already experienced up and down of Internet connections until I'm numb now. At the end, I just want my Google Map and Uber work. Speed wise doesn't matter. During my Japan trip, the speed wasn't that fantastic as I would have expected from Japan. On another hand, I always get super speed whenever I am in Beijing using China Unicom and China Mobile. Germany also not bad, quite fast. So far, the worst I had experienced was in Mumbai.

Thank God for Roam Like Home, I can use my data in those eight countries. After Korea, I will travel to SG and CN for a short trip, so this thing just come handy to me though I can claim back from company or use Celcom's data roaming since it's paid by company. I hope the countries list could expand like UM's data backpack's extensive list but I must say I didn't have good experience with UM's data backpack when I used in India.

But if E5786 and E5186 don't have that, can't help it.

Have u test the different between the sim on your phone speed test and the E5186s modem speed test?
Will the modem bring more signal and speedy than your phone ?
I am trying to get this similar modem but my area didnt have LTE-A coverage but nearby, i was thinking that will the antenna from modem will able to receive the LTE-A signal.

it doesn't matter with Malaysia set or china set or anywhere, with Snapdragon 650 then it support LTE-A Cat 6

I'm using Mi Max with Cat 7 and the download speed is almost the same can reach 60Mbps but the upload speed is double from 11-12Mbps to 22Mbps++

So to put it simple. Does Mi5 support Digi LTE-A ?

please don't confuse ppl on local set or import set as the hardware is fixed.
only thing is the Global ROM and China ROM that make the tweak.
for me i always flash Global ROM to China ROM because there are too many built in apps which are non related to official Xiaomi.
somemore China ROM can easily root rather than risking yourself on Global ROM which is not included in their official website.
after you root, you can tweak around to get the max potential of your phone.
so even local set with Global ROM, if flash to China ROM it might not work, but after open up the root access and tweak it, it will work again.
the local/import gimmick is only those who work with Mi Malaysia created the hoax to urge ppl not to buy from parallel importer.
there is only one type of rom in their official website: http://www.miui.com/download-313.html and if there is more than one for different hardware spec, they will shows up there as well.
for example, Mi3 got TD and Mi3W version which you should taken care in order to download correctly.
