Hey guys, im kindda looking around for a new mobile (CHEAP!!!) but i was wondering, what would be the best handphone for use WITH a Macbook? General things like iCal but most importantly, be able to update the Address Book between the two devices..Ive tried using a Motorola E398 with the iSync, but it didnt work as well as id have liked..

It really doesnt matter if the phone is a new model or old, as long as its cheap im good. tongue.gif

Also, the Apple site (Apple iSync Devices) does list out a whole bunch of devices, but i was wondering if anyone has any specific preferences..Leaning towards the Nokia 6111 for the moment..

Any thoughts.....?

Thanks.

Consider phones from SonyEricsson. Advantages:

1. Sync with address book and iCal easily via iSync. Plug in USB cable, select 'phone mode', click the sync button and it works out of box.

2. Select 'file transfer' mode when USB is plugged in, and you will have the phone memory and external memory card mounted automatically on desktop ready for access/write/mod.

The 'phone mode' and 'file transfer' mode is only available on mid-range model after w800i (e.g. w810i, w850i, k800i, etc)

it is in the other way round.

use phone to control mouse, media player, as presenter etc via bluetooth. such feature comes in some SE phones and symbian phones.

No thoughts on the Nokia 6111..? The Apple site says it would work and the main reason im pushing it is merely cause im reallly broke and i can get a second hand model pretty cheaply..

But admittedly the online reviews havent been to great on the phone..

i'm using a SE k750 and as CHiQ can attest to, it works fine. I can even access the memory stick over bluetooth.

OK I've been using a Nokia 6230 for the past many years. It's a series 40 Nokia similar to the 6111 and it works fine with OSX, iCal. Browsing the internal card is not a problem, exporting from iMovie to 3GPP works great. I've used it to go online as well using Digi's EDGE

Im looking for something within the 600ish price range (yeah, i really do mean cheap), and so far the V3i is looking like the most likely candidate (i may be cheap, but i still wanna be fashionable)..any other thoughts..?

I know im being a real pain la, but my concerns would be that the phone not be TOO old, something released early 06 is fine, and that it be anything BUT a candy bar phone, and obviously within the 600ish price range la...

Leceh kan..?

the ~RM600 range... yea, V3i is pretty good...

the new SE k550 is pretty good as well, but that is closer to RM900 or so...
