I guess the system may not completely capture some transactions thus left in the pending/cache area and shall be processed at the end of the day manually (typically during daily system refresh timeframe). It happens mostly due to outdated payment gateway (which contains methodology flow).

Applied the quantum card through email on 25th Apr, approved on 2nd May, physical card arrived on 5th May. Very efficient I can say.

That is strange, I collected both cards at branch 1 week after application submitted.

I firmly believes that it is the banks' discretion whether to provide credit facilities to onboarding customers. Banks always in the position of upholding shareholders' best interests by avoiding potential financial losses (i.e. bad and doubtful debt provision) due to oversight of past repayment trends in future predictions.

35k FD at board rate is required for earmark. There is also quite substantial amount of stamp duty to fork out for the pledged documents.

big spender helped banks earn a lot of transaction fees. I don't see prompt payment being an issue here.
