Just received SMS that my Signature card is approved after submission 2 weeks ago. Thought it will not be approved since my previous application via RinggitPlus was rejected about 4 months ago.

guys, when was the quantum card being launched? Any idea what fine print it have for 5% online cash back? Maximum cap, minimum spending etc etc?

Edit: got it; RM30 max rebate. Anyway anyone know where to get this card with the best deal? very interested... hehe...

The best deal I see right now with public bank credit cards is applying via ringgitplus but the deal, excludes the quantum cards.

i wonder what merchants they categorised as Departmental and Entertainment. Departmental should be those Parkson, Aeon Store and etc which are different with groceries under MCC 5411. But how about entertainment?

The T&C and product disclosure was too brief.. may be really need to try out first then only know? hmm.gif

Seems like the Quantum Visa only useful to me for Parkson and Cinemas (must purchase at counter i think, coz online and apps would have to use Qunatum Mastercard for the CB).

When applying PB Quantum Visa and PB Quantum MasterCard, are them bundle under 1 application like the M2C or separate application for each card?
If they are separate, can apply both? Do them share the credit limit?

If you have registered previously for another PBB card, then it should be auto-tracked under your name. But don't take my words for it, best to clarify with CS on their system.

Have to wait someone to swipe and wait for few week to see cash back granted or not?

Do note that PBB CR for online covers all online transactions (including utility/broadband payments made online on the service provider's website)..

CIMB CR doesn't give CB for these payments unless you use Shopee..

I have both PBB VS & CIMB CR.. I'll use CIMB CR for 11Street, Lazada purchases and keep my PBB CR for bill payment, dining, groceries..

Finally I have the courage to step into the almighty PBB thread as I am too poor for VS, yet. tongue.gif

Anyway, I still couldn't find time to apply for Quantum yet, will do soon after checking my CCRIS if it's nice enough for new card application. Hopefully it's good enough to cover my YOLO as I have no plan to keep it further when the AF kicks in.

Got rejected once by PBB back in end of Dec 2015.

Applied for my credit limit increase (with significantly increased salary) a few days ago.... And got rejected!!

Did one for MBB which was approved (10k increase).

Not sure if my PBB CL increase was rejected due to maximising my BTs. I got crazy high BTs with Aeon, MBB and PBB and was only applying for increases just so I could get even more BT. PBB is now my lowest CL (compared to MBB, CIMB, HSBC, HLB, SCB, Alliance, Aeon, Ambank and Citibank).

Will try my luck With Aeon tomorrow.

My case, MBB was worse. I applied for CL increase last month, was having the same CL since like 6 years ago.
They granted me a CL increase which is less than 2X my monthly salary. *sulk*

I am new to PBB and i am getting a decent CL, better than MBB..

By the way since you are the BT specialist here, the current PBB 0% BT 6 months promo will end by June 2017. Does the promo gets extension usually? For many many years / cycles already?
Big BT ending in a Sep / Oct and I just hope PBB will have 0% BT offer by that time.

2. principal need to pay all money in one statement or seperate statment and pay by the supp holder himself?
3. for 1 milliion cash back, can i use the supp card for register it and the cash back is go to supp card or principal card?

1. Yes if supp is separate statement (this is for the standard 6%)

2. Supp holder can pay own statement

3. Must register principal only but supp spending will qualify and aggregate with principal. Only the principal will get the cashback

Anybody tried their quantum card online already? I'm having issues with iPay88 gateway. Card not an issue because I tried paying Maxis and it went tho.

iPay88 accepted my other cards (CIMB & SC) so it's not an issue with it either. The Quantum doesn't wanna work with iPay88.

Call to PBB reveled that no transaction was detected at all. Asked them if they blocked any merchants their answer is no. rclxub.gif

I've received the PBB Quantum MasterCard (Principal + Supplementary) about 2 days after Approval SMS via PosLaju Mail-drop (i.e. no signature required)

Realised that the card are pre-activated and need to set PIN to start using.
So be careful not to loss the letter

to add to the list.. i swipe my Quantum MasterCard on last Saturday and the transaction go through and posted in my PBe. but toady when i try pay bills using UOB payonline and MyTNB portal both failed. After click proceed the page never goes to merchant site where we need to key in the TAC.

Anyone else facing the same issue as mine for Quantum MasterCard?

I thought AirAsia charged processing fee for using credit card?? if 8 swipes that will be 8 times processing fee? shocking.gif

wow, must be time consuming to pay 1 by 1. Anyway there's no saving in paying in 1 lump sum as Air Asia charges credit card fee by per person basis. BTW, any update on your BT? Mine still not credited to Maybank yet.

Should be ok.. don't think it needs to be a dedicated personnel.. 2 years ago I sent mine to pbcs_online@publicbank.com.my and custsvc@publicbank.com.my, and managed to get my card & supp card approved..

I first apply PBB card via ringgitplus in 2015, pbcs_online@publicbank.com.my sent me an email to request document, I attach all the documents and reply the email.

the problem is not the card, but the way online portal configures it to identify certain series of card numbers.

they told me that the OTP was triggered by the merchant website itself and nothing to do with Public Bank.

The merchant will by no way knows the mobile number it needs to send the secure OTP to.

More like merchant to redirect the payment page back to the bank, which in turn trigger the OTP for authentication and verification, then redirect back to the merchant with status successful/failed.

ya basically its the merchant bank need configures / update and not the Public Bank side.. but still we are unable to utilise the card for online payment yet.. finger crossed they will update ASAP so we can earn our CB. PB card CB on online transaction is one of the best in the market i would say..

Ringgitplus (RP) is basically an agent/broker for the the respective bank. Quite a number of negative feedback on their FB on hassle to get the lazada voucher.

Basically, the bank will credit their comissions on batches (and fulfill conditions imposed by them ) and in return RP provides cardholder with lazada voucher., eg something like Shopback concept.

Of course you cant chase the bank to pay RP faster as tht their internal arrangement. RP will also have lead time to process on their end. Tht the trouble if you are claiming gift from broker /agent as the voucher is provided by RP rather than the bank.

Personally I never had any problem getting the promised voucher from RP. Strangely though, my brother did face problem with the voucher. I applied first but was processed later, and I get the voucher earlier. He applied later but was approved a month earlier. However his voucher was really slow and even had to make numerous calls to hsbc to get his voucher.

I just done my 8 swipes. Feeling this week will be more challenging with new Quantum users on board.

Btw i remember you had a long detailed sharing on split vs multiple transactions.
This morning i went to do a retail payment. I observed that the cashier directly enter the amount i want to pay (rm150) into the credit card merchant device, and swipe my card for payment. No system to capture the 'transaction'. Means, they will record down that i paid rm150 using manual capturing method (their even issue me a hand written receipt)

Which makes me wonder, in this case, there should be no way of having 'multiple' transactions, since the credit card terminal is not connected to any 'system'. Since we believe that we cannot let a supermarket cashier to scan all items, and pay with more than 1 swipe (which we believe will be taken as multiple)

My only regret is i did not ask the cashier to swipe my card 3 times instead of 1.

the new mytnb portal (web) has always been full outstanding amount.

currently, i can pay any amount using mytnb app. just overwrite the amount when it ask for contact number & payment amount.

Finally saw both quantum cards appearing in my wife's add card tab. First submission had no news and when I checked with the IVR, no record present so I resubmitted, took only 3 days to appear in the system.

Since my wife is a existing savings account holder with PB, so I guess she is not valid for the JBL bluetooth speaker promo?

I'm just referring to RP. Few years back, I also applied a card on RP for Lazada voucher. It's RM200 and IIRC, it's public bank card.

Sorry for the confusion.. doh.gif under t&c 3.4 I quoted in my previous post is "excluded from participating".. so it means that you can only choose 1 i.e. Voucher from Ringgit Plus or the Travel Set from PB via direct apply from them.

For PBB, normally need to get the approved card first then BT. I know some banks have a combined application, but PBB is separate.

I left it blank in the credit card no. & put a note "New Credit Card application".
Long ago I tried apply new card together with BT promo, they said ok.

is paying unifi bill via the TM website entitled for cashback? in the statement it is displayed as "TELEKOM MSIA BHD-UNIFI" but i am not getting cashback for this. anyone can clarify?

by the way UO Superstore is not entitled for cashback.

Hi, do Grab and Uber qualify for cash back for online transactions?
I understand that UOB YOLO card gives cash back for both Grab and Uber but CIMB Cash Rebate Mastercard doesn't.

I applied for the new credit card in the "PB Mass Acquisition Credit Card Campaign".

I choose "Visa Platinum & Platinum Mastercard".

My purpose is to get the free Valentino Creations – 3-in-1 Travel Set.

In the T&C, it stated to make an accumulative retail transaction of RM200.

May I know pump PETROL is consider "retail transaction" or not, in order to get the free gift?

Everything is retail unless there is a specific exclusion. I haven't read the TNC for this, but if it doesn't exclude petrol then you're safe.

when did you make the payment? you're expecting cashback for 6% or the weekly promo cashback?

last known description for payment via unifi occ/mytm = TMONLINE(EC) KUALA LUMPUR MY


perhaps TM have reorganized/rationalized their merchant ID listing from their portals.

VS requirements are reportedly strict. If you're far off, better apply for Quantum then later try your luck with VS.

Who just applied PBB cards recently? Just wanna know if they will call your employer for verification? Our office will be relocated soon and HR's fixed line will be temporarily unavailable for a while. Maybe new to bank cardholders can advise?

Submited my application for PBB VS on 28/03. Not sure if they call the office but application was approved on 14/04 (checked via PBB hotline) I do have existing card and bank loan with them anyway.

I'm new to bank in Jan. Being rejected last year before I had HP with PBB.

Last year apply gold card being rejected. Then I have HP with PBB in last year May. After that start apply PBB card again this year January. All being approved including VS.

I had just try to do transaction at Shopee with PBB Quantum MasterCard. It automatically failed without send me OTP or to OTP page.

l applied for PB Quantum credit cards on 4th April and was approved on 14th April 2017. No increase in my existing credit limit since l was PB cardholder three years ago.

At the same time, l applied for AmBank Bonuslink credit card and my application was not even recorded in the system.

No issue, just paid this morning and already received acknowledgement from TM.

Did you made multiple payment within a short period of time? Encountered my card blocked by PBB after I made 3 transaction through UOB Payonline in one go.

Applied for PBB cc on 06/04 and got a called from them on 12/04 to clarify on some details on my application form(my handwriting was horrible hence the phone call LOL). Received sms that my card has been approved on 14/04.

First time applying PBB card btw. Hope this helps

anybody ever have any problem receiving OTP from Public Bank? Called customer service they said OTP is delivered but I never receive them. I am using Digi btw.

I emailed them on 13 April and shot them another email today listing all the failed transactions reported in this thread. Got a missed call from PBB Card Services at 7.16pm. Then they called again at 7.41pm to inform me all should be settled now icon_rolleyes.gif

I received the card on 10 April and statement date is 19th but first statement will only be issued on 19th May which means there's only a quota of RM30 cash back from 10 April to 19 May. sad.gif

You can check the transaction history in the shopee app. Mine shows the current date time correctly.

Oh no. Perhaps after 9 would be safer from now on. I usually do mine while I'm in the office (830+++) and have had no timing issues so far.

For this swipe maybe no need to rush so much. For me, I just try to complete all by Monday.

PBB is quite fast and efficient in application, submitted my VS application last Friday evening, they just called me regarding my application ( they can only offer me platinum card because my annual income is only 99k laugh.gif , not eligible for VS ), i told them give me quantum visa/ mastercard instead and they will proceed to process my application, hopefully can join PBB thread soon

Wow they so strict on this? Add in bonus won't exceed RM100,000? Perhaps should add in EA form (if exceed RM100,000) but not sure will they approve or not.

I only exceed a bit of RM100,000 (few hundreds) not sure will approved or not since it's so strict. Plan to apply when receive my latest revised pay slip.

I believe they will approve. My annual salary did not meet their requirement but submitted my EA form which include all bonus and allowances exceed 100k and my application was approved sweat.gif

Still trying to settle my OTP problem. Have to go to the branch to find out more rclxub.gif

i think this doesnt work. swipe card and link into pbe is 2 different things. but no harm to try and update us. haha. thanks in advance !

btw, i emailed them to check the error appeared, whether it is due to i dont have saving account in pbe. will update you once i got feedback from them.

and I check my Pbe accounts already have both Quantum Visa/Master linked in my Pbe. (even i havent get my card)
Maybe because I have saving accounts & e-FD in Pbe, auto link ba.

I heard in those case dun hav saving accounts in Pbe, need to go branch submit form for login e-account?

My experience is I dont have any PBB acc and card, yesterday received my quantum card, then can register my card to pbb e-banking by using my card without go to branch.

I'm PBB user with credit cards only, no Savings Account. I able to use their online banking service to add card. Just go to any PBB Branch, let them have biometric verification on you with your I/C, and update PAC mobile number will do. Then you can add credit card everytime you applied a new cards.

To answer those with card linking questions. If you do not have CASA and you have previously linked your first card online, you are unable to add the second card yourself. Have to do it at the branch.

PB Quantum - no AF and good combination of CB (online/dining/entertainment/department)
YOLO - with AF and minimum spend requirement.

So Quantum definitely better.

No minimum spending and no AF are already advantages over YOLO.

However, YOLO has 6% cash back and higher cash back amount.

So, for me I can easily achieve RM 833.33 every month for YOLO. I will still try to get Quantum and VS later. However, few forummers PM-ed me their encounter with the rejection from PBB they faced due to PTPTN, I don't put in much hope already... sweat.gif laugh.gif

Yea, the CS purposely called me and ask if I have any PTPTN loan havent cleared.
But also if cleared, it will still subject to management for the approval.

there's a lot of ppl reporting this since early Apr. early applicants gets Mastercard first, then Visa.

since pbb has resolved the issue with Visa, perhaps future delivery could be 2-cards together.

you're the latest one reporting gotten mastercard only. so pbb has yet to deliver 2-cards.

You cannot pay a loan with credit card.
So far I only know PTPTN loan allows, no other loan will allow payment using another credit.

Not a big fan of how these third party merchants work when they will know all your details. One of the merchants contacted me via LYN PM and explained to me the "loophole" of this whole thing. That's why they can come out with a lot of creative ideas for different type of services.

Anyway that's just my thought and not sure about others. Everyone is entitled for their opinion and preference. biggrin.gif

They charge you higher fee for the amount you pay to your bank. Also, your credit card has cash back limit per month. In the end, the cash back you receive cannot even cover the additional charges you pay to the sellers.

Apart from the high commission the sellers charge, you may face the risk of non-payment or late payment, resulting in late payment charges and interest from bank, as well as bad record affecting CCRIS. It is acceptable to use Shopee for utility bill payment, but for home loan and hire purchase loan payment, do not take risk just because of small cash back.

But I tried many times today using Quantum and always got this error:

18 approved, today get cards.
Card is activated, just need to create PIN then can use.

Use it for paying LHDN tax, will get rejected from bank too. Need to call CS perhaps. Look like many merchant reject for online transaction?

just got a call from pb, for those who register pbe online, some functions on the pages are not activated. in order to have full privileges on the pbe, you need to go to nearest branch and get the officer to activate for you. similar to what celaw has commented earlier.

I made 3 (advance purchase) bookings via Hilton Hotel App, but sadly they are NOT online transactions, and, the hotel only manually processed the transaction yesterday (which means my Week 6 cashback will be reduced to only RM20 instead of RM50).

Generally I think hotel reservations are hit-and-miss in terms of receiving online cashback. I know Agoda "pay now" is regarded as an online transaction, but there are so many variations depending on which platform you use, and the agreement between the online portal and the individual hotel.

Anyway, lesson learned. Total losses = RM180 (as I used 3 supp cards to get the RM50 6% cashback each, plus a loss of RM30 promo cashback for my Week 6).

no idea about occ-unifi, but mytm works just fine.

also, the RM5 promo is for RM100 min payment. wasted 1x swipe for the 5x/8x cb promo. laugh.gif

how many shopee transactions u did for week2?

for week2, how many total transactions that u did that are RM50+?


very likely the shopee on monday 1-2am not qualified (coz tracked as Sunday), but other transactions you did for the remaining days in week2 contributed the cb eligibility.

try recount all your transactions that u did for week2.

all 8 swipes for the wk2 were under the supp card right?

want to check whether if all 8 trans is done using supp, still eligible for the swipe more cb or it must be combined with at least 1 transaction under principal card. tq.

I keep getting the error "Wrong Credit Card Selected" or something like that when I tried to submit through their online application...
anyone had the same issue? =.=
I just chose their VS and filled in all the details but I can't get to the final part..
