correct, as last time i tried Starbucks Pyramid was using MCC 5499 and not eligible for VS' Dining cashback.

they have mostly migrated to different mcc for some time now, so i just avoid using any cc with them.

to be safe, just reload online to starbucks card. less headache

if i want to use cc at coffee outlet, just go to CBTL instead. they're using MCC 5814, eligible for VS' Dining Cashback. plus, better taste

Do this to save the IBG fees. Just one-time RM0.11 fee.


1) transfer from RHB --> PBB SA. that's a one-time RM0.11 IBG fee.
2) register all your PBB cards as Favourite Cards, including all your PBB supp cards too (if any).
3) make a PBB Card Payment to your PBB cards, including your PBB supp cards too. it will transfer from your PBB SA without any fee. payment will be reflected immediately in all cards.

2) in previous promos, uobpayonline + syabas, not eligible because it was showing "SYABAS" in the description. few months back, uobpayonline + syabas didnt display the "SYABAS" word, screenshot as below. so, since previous promo 5x/8x swipe campaign, uobpayonline + syabas = eligible due to the description change. else, go for shopee also can.



3) yes, seems to be the safer alternative if you're targeting for the swipe campaign. PBB only see the transaction description as "SHOPEE", not "TNB or TENAGA NASIONAL BERHAD"

OT... hopefully no impact to shopee sellers particularly in bill payments

as what you've posted in CIMB thread, your income is not favorable to your cc application.

max is only cc from 2 issuers.


if your income >RM36k, no limitation and meets Quantum's income requirement.

else, you wouldn't have tried at Sri Computer and Viewnet, right? it's almost certain not eligble for Quantum Visa since it doesnt known as "entertainment" or "departmental" but yet you tried to find out.

in fact, you should ask for the MCC from PBB CS. they will tell you what MCC registered to Viewnet and Sri Computer; then update back at MCC thread for everyone's benefits.


that is the reason to try. CIMB CR covers both categories, but kinda strict to Online. luckily still got 2% for Grocery, else it'd fall into 0.2% Retail instead.

Quantum MC doesnt have Grocery to conflict with Online category. also, PBB is lenient for Online, so there's a good chance could be eliglble for Online cashback.

ok scratch that. very likely not eliglble for Quantum MC.

Tesco online works differently as they need you to swipe the card upon delivery at your doorstep, so the MCC falls under 5411: Grocery. I did this for my previous HLB Wise card, it was having MCC 5411 from the mobile POS terminal.

just give it a try who knows, things has changed.

when u think departmental, it's just the all-in-one GMS (General Merchandise Stores), like aeon (not the supermarket), isetan, parkson, etc.

going to shoe, clothing, cosmetic, beauty stores, very likely not identified as Departmental. they have their own category. retail shops in shopping mall doesnt mean they are departmental/GMS in business nature; of course with some weird exception that some are wrongly identified as well (that's besides the point).

mostly ppl use uobpayonline due to convenience in paying other ppl's accounts without the need to create individual login.
