Hey ladies.

Want to seek expert advise regarding handbag choices for my mom and wife.

Some current facts :
- both are professional working lady
- currently both using shitty handbag (they doesn't put handbag as priority)

My budget max around 2k each, or best if could get 1.5k each.

Aiming for professional looking and of course, durability as both of them workaholic. Surely wear and tear are expected sooner or later.

Also, wife currently using Prada white wallet. I gave her last year as present. Loved it very much.

Thinking of choosing Prada handbag for wife to compliment the wallet I gave her but it cost more than my thin wallet.

Maybe MK @ Michael Kors Selma Satchel Large (Black & Gold Hardware) @ https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4175557 but I am unsure if the brand itself it exclusive and elegant as the price is quite affordable due to unofficial bulk purchase from US.

Anyway my budget is not that exclusive so I think I don't have too many right to complaint.

So yeah, any suggestion and advise will be highly appreciated!

My 2 cents:

Handbag choices is highly depending on individual taste & behavior. Even Prada or Hermes could be a shitty handbag for some people. Some people buy solely based on its design, some buys based on its practicality e.g. number of compartments, ease of access etc, some buys for face value.

From your description, seems like both of them won't mind any decent tier handbags (unless it looks super bimbo). They most likely appreciate your thoughts & effort. If you buy Prada, you have a sweet story to tell & opens up more conversations. While MK would probably just lead to "Got this for you, hope you like it" & that's it. To clear your doubt, MK is a above average brand - simple, clean, sleek & modern design.

i sendiri own 2 MK and 1 Kate Spade. (no buy LV because price too expensive, not cannot afford, just feel not worth it)

if your wife is cheerful and bubbly type, get kate spade.

gold hardware is last season and the coat of paint is easier to come off (own experience with both gold and silver hardware MK)

from first time buyer's perspective, get MK hamilton for mother, selma for wife.

but as female, get the latest design from the selected brand lol. safe & sophisticated colour can last longer than bright and bold colours.

because women's fashion have seasons. spring, summer, fall and winter.

we wouldn't want to use summer/spring colour during fall/winter and vice versa

brown/black/grey is easier to match outfits. unless they have their own favourite colour, then choose that.

BUT.

if you can, just get your mother LV speedy and wife get LV bandouliere <-- sure won't go wrong.



of course outside there got so many brands!

dior, prada, celine, goyard, burberry & etc.

feel free to look around lol, or just walk into the store and let the salesgirl sell it to u.

Prada sounds good.

MK / Kate Spade all those forget it. Not durable, pricing cheap because it's too commercialize and so forth.

If they are professional, a Prada would be way better. Yeah, a Prada cost a lot. But a Prada last way longer and leaves a better impression in the end as well.

Professional - Neverful, definitely.

Speedy don't look close to professional.

Celine Phantom also not bad but definitely not within TS's budget.

Goyard / FLP diff type of story but the classic range looks rather sweet as well.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

But anyways, budget is capped at 2k, pointless to talk about speedy or neverful when they are almost double of budget.
