I see, then what about when people not on VoLTE calling your number?
*
You could still receive calls when you're on LTE network just you would not enjoy the benefit of using VoLTE which significant had higher voice quality. In simpler words, normal calls over the LTE.

QUOTE(afza @ Apr 21 2017, 01:23 PM)
People always forget that when you are transacting data, there are always more contributing factors to the "speed" of the network. We always blame our providers as they are here and near.

No one even consider the condition of the host server, traffic "speed" of the various hops that the data going through before it even land in Malaysia's gateway and then travel through our provider network before ending on our devices. I believe, the data that travels through various network were charge by respective network provider, and it was not cheap.

Imagine how much Webe (or TM) have to pay to, let say Verizon or NTT or BT or SingTel, to have the data transferred through their network so that the traffic will have the least hops and arrive faster to Malaysia. It will be costly to transfer data from foreign server than the server in Malaysia. Thats why Malaysia have tried (not sure how much effort) to have those service to host in Malaysia so the cost could be lessen. If Google could host their services (Youtube, Gmail etc.) in Malaysia, we'll be having smallest ping and whooping speed irregardless of whatever provider we use. Same goes to the gaming services that we played online.

Our provider can only manage the "speed" in their network only. They can boost, prioritize and separate it into dedicated channel to improve specific service. They can't do that for every incoming traffic. Network congestion are very delicate to handle. But at some point, the infrastructure will be overwhelm (in Webe case, using the mobile data for non mobile things) and they can only mitigate it up to some point where infrastructure had to be upgrade.

When they enter this phase, you can't expect the provider to magically resolve the congestion in a blink (or a day or a week or a month). They need to prepare expansion proposal, get the approval, procure the infra, deliver the infra, install the infra, test the infra then they may commission it to public. All this infrastructure expansion and upgrades cost time and money, A LOT OF MONEY.

So, be considerate when you complaint. It can be the provider fault, it can be the hosting service fault, it can be intermediary network provider fault that you have "slow" stream of movies or bad ping playing WoW etc.

Sorry for your time,
Just an IT guy.

If we really want server to be hosted in Malaysia, the price of internet access must be drive down. Most server would rather host in Singapore rather than Malaysia although the cost of space rental and electricity cost is cheaper in Malaysia.

SO far there isn't any technology to aggregate TDD and FDD LTE networks together. I am not sure what claim did you base on to say webe is doing CA on its network for some areas.
*
Vodafone already did that in Portugal some time ago

Are you very sure about this? Currently have offer from China Unicom, 999rmb for Honor 6S, 799rmb for Le2 & 599rmb for Gionee F103B. I think all three have 38/40.
*
Webe deploying band 38/40 is not a secret as they already publicly announced but most likely they will deploy only in big cities.

Is speed 40mbps consider band 38/40?
I dont think band 5 can achieved that

Get it at johor bharu and kluang
*
Yes definitely. Webe only deployed 5 MHz of band 5 LTE which is only capable of theoretical speed of 32.5Mbps. If speed higher than 30Mbps, you can be sure that it's Band 38/40.

Technically it's not banned. But the speed so limited that voice call cannot function properly.

What's wrong with using the service and obey to T&C at the same time? You really should consider to kill yourself since there are so many laws and regulations to follow.

Yeah pretty sure Malaysia law system isn't sincere about protecting Malaysian as well since there are so many laws which significantly increases the difficulty to pass a law degree biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Anyone can produce the terms that say webe allows use on usb dongle? I read that there was no specific term to prevent us from doing so.. I was searching for a clause that states that they strictly disallow usage on a usb dongle.. Correct me if I'm wrong.. My account was suspended a month ago, but only yesterday I received sms from webe that they suspend it due to non-mobile usage and from that moment onwards, I cant surf the net..
*
I don't recall the T&C mention anything about using on USB modem. Rather it was forumer says they are able to use it on USB modem without being blocked.

I compare RN4 & RN4x at GSMarena and found that both have exactly same spec n all the 3 bands 5,38 & 40 but wonder all 3 bands will work with Webe.

Offtopic: For a price diff of rm200 compare with Malaysian Set,  the imported one will work on all these 3 bands?
*
Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon stated on gsmarena is based off LTE bands for variant sold in India. It had different band support for the same model sold in Malaysia. As far as I recall, only Redmi Note 4 sold in Malaysia support all of these bands. Redmi Note 4X support band 38 and 40 but not 5.

does webe have public ip or it's private ip? if connect the sim card to 4g router considered as tethering? thanks for answering in advanced

IPv4 Private
IPv6 Public
Using sim card on non-mobile devices for Webe Mobile will lead you to account suspension.

They know Band 5 won't work here because Malaysia like faster speed. Not turtle speed up to 20Mbps only.

Average speed you get is 2-5Mbps... sad.gif
Atleast give Band 3( speed up to 75Mbps)... doh.gif doh.gif
*
Webe can't even deploy band 3, they don't have bandwidth allocation on that spectrum.

yes confirm Redmi 4x support Band 5 and Band 40 that Webe Support,
i my self using Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo, its not listed as Webe supported device, but i received LTE coverage and able to use my hotspot quota smile.gif

Basically the supported model listed on Webe website is tested to work on the network. Devices not listed aren't tested so as long as it had webe's LTE band, it will work.
